From the moment I booked my first puppy training session with A Pet Perspective, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. The booking process was straightforward and easy to navigate, making a great first impression.

During the initial session, Sean amd Kaimana took the time to assess my puppy’s needs and behaviors, working collaboratively with me to develop a tailored training plan. Their expertise and clear communication made me feel confident and supported every step of the way.

The maintenance sessions onsite and in home have been just as seamless, offering ongoing guidance to ensure consistent progress. The personalized approach has been invaluable, making a noticeable difference in my puppy’s behavior and our bond.

Sean and his team are absolutely amazing!! He truly cares about what would work best for our dog, her age, and personality as well as what would work best for us as a family and incorporates our individualized needs. We came to him because we were told that our, then 11 month old, puppy was being aggressive. After Sean met our puppy he was able to explain to us her body language and her specific mannerisms and what they mean and what we need to do in those moments. We have seen a huge difference in our dog and she has become so sweet and affectionate that she has truly become my dream dog!

My dog and I completed a 6-week training course, and I can't say enough good things about our experience. Sean has such a natural way with dogs and their humans—it felt like he truly understood what we needed.

My pup struggles with reactivity toward other dogs, and Sean gave me practical tools to address it. I’m already seeing such an improvement! He also worked with us on building her confidence around loud noises (like weed eaters), which has been a game-changer.

The Pet Perspective team came highly recommended from a friend and have been working with Dusty for over a year now. Even within our first 6 weeks with them we saw huge improvements! I particularly love the way their team approaches training (holistically, through positive reinforcement, and pet psychology). Worth every penny!

A Pet Perspective is hands down the best dog training business on island. They use a holistic training method but take a firm stance against any e-collar, prong collar, or other “pain” methods of dog training. Ask them about their wall of pain, you won’t regret it.

When I first got my dog, I didn’t know what to do with her. I thought I could just bring her home and she would be content to just hang out with me and go on an occasional walk. Boy was I wrong, she was a menace. She ran around the house chewing things, peeing, she always pulled on the leash outside, and she barked at every dog and person she saw. After a year of enduring these problem behaviors and serious considerations that we just weren’t capable of raising a dog, me and my wife decided to get an evaluation from Sean from A Pet Perspective.

For the evaluation, Sean came to our home and he took our dog and walked her down the street on a loose leash, got her to be calm when people passed by, and basically showed us that our dog wasn’t broken, we just didn’t know how to communicate with her. He also told us some hard truths: that our dog was physically and mentally unfulfilled. It hurt to hear that, but after seeing him handle her, we knew he was right, so we scheduled our first six training sessions with him.

Over these first six sessions, Sean explained to us what goes on in a dog’s mind, how to more effectively communicate with them, and ran us through drills and gave us training “homework” that would help us make progress in training and get the most out of our sessions with him. The best part about these sessions though is that Sean won’t train your dog for you, he will teach you how to train your dog.

Over the course of about two and a half months going to these sessions, we made tremendous progress in our training, built a stronger bond with our dog, and gained confidence in ourselves and our ability to handle her and give her a fulfilling life.

Now we have been going to Sean for almost a year and a half and 99% of our dog’s problem behaviors are gone. Our dog is happier, me and my wife are happier, and our bond is unbreakable. Full credit for this goes to Sean’s expertise and his ability to educate people with no background in dog training on high-level information in a way that is easy to understand.

The Pet Perspective Crew were exactly what we needed!! We rescued our first Doberman with no idea of how smart/stubborn they can be. We thought we knew how to train him because our other dogs were really easy, but quickly found out we were wrong. The most basic things: barking, pulling, not acknowledging his name, overly excited when around other dogs, etc.

I will embarrassingly say I was extremely stressed and felt like crying when attempting to train our boy. With this being said I reached out to Sean and we began our 6-week training. The end results shocked me. In just 6-weeks we had a connection with Anubis that we didn't have before and training was actually FUN. Both Anubis and I actually enjoy working together 🤍

"Train the human, trust the dog" Sean's method of training us is what every pawrent needs. Worth every penny, A pet's Perspective gives us dog owners just that. An in depth understanding of how your dog thinks and how to help them react better in stressful situations. His explanations are insightful and 90% of the learning won't even involve your dog. As a bonus Sean is very receptive to questions or issues months or even years later. Kaimana is also very helpful and has a great mobile dog treadmill program that helps fill your dog's exercise bucket. Of course they own many non reactive dogs that help your dog get hands on training. We will forever be grateful for turning our rescue pittie mix into a fun and loving pet.

My partner and I turned to Sean and Kaimana as our last resort. We had recently adopted a rescue stray pup and thought we had a basic understanding of canine communication and care. It turns out we were in way over our heads. Once the honeymoon period with our dog was over, he became extremely aggressive toward my partner. Desperate for support, we called Petco, where they told us to match aggression with aggression. This only made things worse, leading us down a terrible path and creating more confusion and frustration in building a relationship with our new pup.

Feeling hopeless and out of options, we finally reached out to Sean, praying he could help us reunite our family and build a cohesive home. When I called, my first question was whether he would even be willing to work with us. By then, our dog had already bitten my partner, his cousin, and even a child. Without hesitation, Sean agreed to help us on the spot. For the first time in this uncharted and overwhelming journey, I felt a glimmer of hope for our new family.

Sean and Kaimana worked seamlessly as a team to teach us an in-depth understanding of canine body language, how to effectively communicate with our dog, and how to build a loving, lasting relationship. Their guidance gave us the tools to fulfill our dog’s needs and create a bond that continues to grow in every aspect of our lives together.

I cannot overstate how much APP has transformed our relationship with our dog. The skills and tools they provided have allowed us to give our pup a full and happy life while developing the cohesive relationship we had dreamed of — a bond that is absolutely priceless. Every dog deserves to be understood, and Sean has given us the knowledge and support to do just that.

Because of Sean and Kaimana, we not only get to experience life with our dog, but we also get to love him fully. Their motto, “Training humans and teaching dogs,” couldn’t be more accurate. They truly do not disappoint.
