I recently took my cats in for their wellness check. I was quickly checked in. I was able to do a drop off visit which was great for my work schedule. Everyone was friendly and my cats did great. I have always had great service at Academy!

First, I rarely give 5 stars to anyone so this is a good review.

I moved to Joplin 2 yrs ago. The house that I bought was infested with fleas and my little dog was covered before I knew it. I couldn't find anyone who would let me come in just for flea meds (otc wasnt going to cut it). They all wanted him to be a patient first, but we had only been here a day or so and hadn't established a vet yet. This was an emergency. He was covered and distressed. Academy did it without question. They have been our vet ever since and my little guys get excellent care. The ladies are all very helpful in every way that you can imagine to get your pet in and cared for. This showed me that they cared more for the well-being of my pet than the money (pay your bill of course but it wasn't their priority like it was with the others).

My little dog now has diabetes. It really upset me but the tech took time to make sure that I knew what was ahead and what the options would be. She was patient, teaching me how to give the injection and even more she was patient with me knowing that I was upset. He's doing good and our nerves have calmed. His injections have become such a part of our routine. So much so that when the alarm goes off he just walks over and sits in front of me. We couldn't have become this calm without their instruction and care.

Back to the point! I highly recommend Academy Animal Hospital. You will find that they all truly care about your pet first. You will see the compassion starting at the receptionist all the way to the veterinarian. IMO they are a definite asset to this community.

We were impressed with how clean the exam room was and very pleasant to be in. The personnel were very friendly and knowledgeable and in all, it was a pleasant experience with our 6 mo old Westie pup.

We all know the unique place our pets hold in our lives. They can’t tell us when and how they are hurting. Dr Cahill, every technician, and the front desk staff truly understand that bond. Not only do they respond quickly and go the extra mile explaining treatment, options, but they meet both the heart of you and your pet.

They have walked with me during the end of life for two cats. I have no doubt their compassion and treatment approaches softened my grief. And with joy they take care of my healthy exuberant dog and new cat.

Routine care or those needs we fear, Academy is there for you- when you walk in and when you leave. Complete exceptional care. Huge thank you

I have been taking my dogs to Dr Chil since she was doing her internship in Carthage. Dr Cahil is the best most caring vet in this area. Always does the best for my fur babies. I would not trust anyone else to care for my babies health. Jake, Joe , Maddie and Carlie all had good long life’s thanks to Dr Cahil. Roxy and Marley are current clients.

Academy Animal Hospital, Dr. Helm & Stefanie were so calm and patient with my cat Missy. Missy is normally terrified of anything to do with the vet clinic experience. Going in with her I was concerned she wouldn’t do well, but Stefanie & Dr. Helm made her feel comfortable, didn’t rush her to come out of her carrier. They had soft music playing, we didn’t hear loud noises or dogs barking. I love this vet clinic & will definitely be going back to them.

Dr. Helm and the staff were friendly, professional and accommodating and the cost was nearly half for the same problem addressed by the previous veterinarian. This is where I will be going for my cats in the future.
