Yesterday was a day that I had been dreading for a very long time. My cat, Pharoah, who I had had since I was 8 years old(I’m 24 now) suddenly got sick. That morning it took everything in me to admit that it was time. It was time to help him on his way and to put his suffering to an end. If anyone led me to this clinic it was God, there were closer vets but this one stood out to me. All of the staff and the Veterinarian were empathetic and did all they could to make a very difficult process as easy as it could be. He acknowledged that any treatment would be temporary and as soon as he said that I realized, he isn’t in it for the money he’s in it for the love and compassion he has for animals. This will be my primary vet from here on out and I’d recommend to be yours too.

One of the best veterinary hospitals I have been to. The receptionist are so kind and the technicians are very knowledgeable. Dr. Theobald is great at explaining everything and doesn't try to nickle and dime you for everything. Highly recommend!

Everyone at the clinic was absolutely wonderful.There were two girls who helped me get my dog out of the car. The doctor was very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend anyone who needs help with there pet to go there. 👍

Rude, unprofessional and no bedside manners. In addition, they will add all these ridiculous fees to your account and not even say anything. I missed one appointment and the other they canceled but ended up charging me for both. Didn't say anything about the charges just added it to my bill. When I saw it on the receipt and asked about it, she said "oh yea, we added missed appointment fees sometime this year". How about letting people know before just adding charges to their account? Needless to say I will not be going back.

Our first visit confirmed to me (and my dog, Gracie) that this was the place for us! From a very warm and enthusiastic front staff to a Doctor who was willing to spend time with us, explaining options and alternatives. Not to mention the new, bright and clean office. We found our new vet in South County!

I brought my cat in for an appointment. I left my crate slightly open, as I knew my cat would stay there.

I walked up to the counter to check, and the vet tech said to me, "Is she in there? *points to crate by chair* Can you shut that please?"

First of all, where my pet is at this time is my responsibility. That's for me to have under control. The tech's job at that moment is to check me in. I'll bring the pet back when it's my time to see the doctor.

I have had my cat for nearly 18 years, and I think I have more experience with her to know her habits, behaviors, and when I can make a judgment call to leave the crate door open. This isn't the first time this particularly clinic has told me to close the crate, which is so odd to me, because I think of crates as optionable anyway. Normally, I'd just carry her in and have her sit on my lap. A crate is for my convenience, not theirs.

In most cases, I typically do not use a crate when I bring my pet to other vets. I see crates as optionable, to offer the pet guardian a device of travel convenience at their discretion, but not a requirement. The only reason I used one this time was because I purchased a new car and did not want to risk scratch marks in the seats.

I can bring this cat to Petco without a leash, and she follows me around the store. She doesn't dart or run away. She goes where I go. She trusts me. Even if she gets scared and hides behind a shelf item, I finish my shopping and grab her later. So yes, I know my cat enough to know I can leave the crate door open.

If a pet guardian would need to imprison their animal, lest the animal run or dart away from them, then I would be concerned with how that person is treating them at home. Vet clinic staff should not normalize darting animals. If an animal doesn't trust his/her guardian, that's an issue of concern.

Additionally, not that my pet would roam anyway, but this place seems to hate the idea of animals roaming free in their lobby. Typically, vet clinics are welcoming of this. Often, clinics have shelter animals who live there who are free to roam the place. It's a red flag for a vet clinic, a place that specializes in the well-being of animals, to have such strict rules about animal confinement. They should be embracing animal freedom.

They have gotten too big and they are money hungry. They forget about the clients that got them where they are. They are only interested in taking on as many clients as they possibly can. They have a wait time of 1.5 months for ANY service bc they cannot control the stream of people in the clinic bc they only want money.
