A week ago I brought my beloved 22 year old cat Chloé in upon the instruction of our regular vet and the entire staff at the Animal Emergency Clinic was very professional but also incredibly kind and caring to me and my cat, very supportive of both of us. Even though the diagnosis was a sad one and I had to let Chloé go that night, both Dr. Lynn and Dr. Sass and the technicians and receptionist really cared for us and that was much appreciated at such a difficult time. The time I got to spend with Chloé before we put her down and also after made this easier for me and I hope my kitty too - and the fact that I got to hold my cat in my arms the entire time meant the world to me, because that was not the case when I had to let my previous cat go in a different clinic. The vet there let me be in the room, but I couldn't hold my cat or even say a proper goodbye to her. It was a cold and distant experience, so the experience I had at the Animal Emergency Clinic a week ago, though gut wrenching, was one I will always treasure and am extremely grateful for.

They are a smaller practice so don’t have the staff resources you may want in a really urgent scenario depending on the time and day you happen to go in, but I am truly appreciative of this place as I’ve used them 3-4 times over the last 16+ years. They aren’t crazy expensive for emergency visits and have good doctors and nurses, just keep in mind this is not a 24/7 ER for pets, it’s more like your regular vet operating as a walk-in urgent care so they can fill up at times. If your vet cannot see you in a pinch this place is great. If you have something needing seriously urgent ER care I’d recommend VEG in Brentwood just because they are 24/7 and have a larger bandwidth in regards to staffing/availability

I can't thank the emergency animal clinic enough for saving my dog Archer's life with a splenectomy. Dr. Sass and Dr. Sandborn demonstrated incredible skill and expertise throughout the entire process. Their communication was exceptional, keeping us informed during Archer's stay and making sure we felt comfortable every step of the way.

What truly stood out was when Dr. Sass joined us on the floor to explain the surgery right before it began. It was a thoughtful gesture that showed how much they care about both the pets and their families. Thanks to their flawless execution of such a complex surgery, Archer is now on the road to recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend this hospital for any emergency pet needs!

I brought my little greyhound in there last night super late. The ladies were more than accommodating, super sweet. Yes, I waited a while but honestly, it’s an emergency animal hospital so you should expect to wait. The doctor was awesome, and we left with result. They were conscious about my budget and communicated with me through the whole process. There were no surprise charges. I’m really appreciative how much they helped me and Hermes my dog loved them.

I’ve been to a couple animal hospitals around the area and this one has been the best One so far. Thanks, ladies!

My 16 year old Senior cat was having serious issues, we took him in at around 11pm and they were able to see him immediately. All of the ladies working were very kind and friendly, and took very good care of my cat. I’ve been to a few emergency room vets before and none of them felt as comfortable as this place, you can tell that the people that work here truly care about the animals as well as the owners.

This place was amazing under the tough circumstances I had. I got there at 6:30 am. The main vet that was there(wish I could remember her name) was very nice and explained everything. They even contacted Mizzou to see if my sweet girl Harley could get seen by the neurologist. Unfortunately, while there, things took a horrible turn, and it ended with the worst-case scenario. The whole staff was extremely nice and let me and my family have as much time as we needed to deal with the grief. I will forever be grateful for their kindness at such a tough time.

EAC saw me at 2am the day after Christmas and told me exactly what was wrong with my precious labradane and what I needed to do to save him even though it meant leaving there immediately to get to a surgeon without EAC making a dime. He is still with us because they acted so quickly and selflessly.

In Fall 2021, I brought my 5 year old cat here. I wasn't sure what was wrong with him at the time. He couldn't walk on his front leg out of nowhere and was collapsing. He had then progressed to rapid breathing and began to cough while we waited in the car. We waited nearly all night in the parking lot to be seen. He was getting worse as we waited. They finally sent someone to look at him after I asked a couple of times. They peeked in the car and said he seemed stable and we continued to wait hours. This entire time, he was literally drowning internally. He was in heart failure, with fluid around his heart and in his lungs. He had a blood clot go into his leg. He was actively dying, and there was nothing I could do but continue waiting for them to see him. I am so angry that they wouldn't see him earlier, primarily at the lack of attention from the person who came to "evaluate" his situation. I lost him the next month after trying so hard to save him. I just wish that this place would have addressed his suffering and progression in those first moments and had actually seen the serious situation he was in.

Please evaluate your patients more thoroughly before making them wait hours to be triaged. Better yet, if not already, incorporate a triage policy and hire staff if needed to evaluate patients upon arrival (basic vitals etc. see what is going on with the patient) Then determine if they can wait or not.
