Axel Rose is a regular at Barks and Rec. I can’t say enough things about his experience here. It has shaped him into being a very well socialized adult dog as he has attending since he was 6 months old. They send daily photo updates which make me smile throughout the work day. They also board if needed and he has also had great times at the Lakeville Kennels. Leigh, Star and the entire team there treats Axel like family. He loves his friends and play time.

We stumbled across Barks & Rec-North Loop on our recent travels to Minnesota. We decided to bring our dog, but did not feel comfortable leaving her in a hotel room during day while we were gone. Dotti had never been boarded before but Barks & Rec was beyond accommodating and reassuring. They were willing to take her and make adjustments to her needs to ensure she was comfortable, which thankfully wasn’t necessary because she fit right in. I could not ask for better communication/assistance setting up Dotti’s registration and throughout her stay. We received daily updates 2-3x a day including photos. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming and clearly in it for the love of animals. It was such a good experience we took Dotti back the following weekend as we traveled back through Minneapolis and Dotti tugged to get to the front door to reunite with all her new friends. We have been bringing our shy older dog Maisy here for a couple of years now and I cannot say enough good things! We previously used another very popular daycare in the same area and it was always so busy that our dog came back stressed out of her mind. Barks and Rec don’t overcrowd the facility and the staff are SO wonderful at making sure our dog gets a break when she needs it! We absolutely love Leigh and the rest of the B&R team.

Any dog owner will understand how nice it is being able to relax knowing their pup is in good hands. Would definitely recommend to anybody considering!

I made the mistake of boarding my puppy at a regular boarder when she was younger. She came back to me filthy and full of energy because she’d been neglected overnight. I found Barks & Rec and will never take her elsewhere for an overnight stay. She gets so excited to go here for daycare or night visits. I love the staff and the photos they send of my dog playing with other dogs. I couldn’t recommend this business more highly.

We love Barks + Rec (FKA Furball Fitness) but Brazo loves it more! We've tried a few doggy daycares in the metro but B+R is hands down our favorite and the one we now use almost exclusively. Brazo loves the staff and pulls at his leash each drop-off, eager to see everyone. We can tell he is very well cared for by staff there - it's great having a reliable, high quality place he can stay during work-at-the-office days 🙂

My pup absolutely LOVES visiting here for day care! He comes home so happy and tired from the day. I get multiple check-in's and I'm never worried about him through the day. Prices are great, and the ladies that run it are amazing! 🙂

I haven't experienced Mase stay just yet but after speaking with the young lady that answered the phone and directed me to the owner on her off day were so helpful, nice and respectful even with the dogs barking in the back she still did her best with speaking with me & the owner you ROCK can’t wait to visit.

Barks and Rec is a wonderful local business run by two of the most caring and passionate people who employ similarly fantastic people. I don’t trust many people with my sensitive, high maintenance, energetic, needy dog. She LOVES Barks and Rec as well as the second location in the suburbs, Vermillion Kennels (great for longer stays). The entire team at Barks and Rec is amazing and I wouldn’t recommend any place else in Minneapolis for your dog grooming, daycare, and overnight needs. Thank you so much for taking the best care of our puppas!! Safety, cleanliness, love, attention, activity, and fun abound!!
