Gracie, 11 month old, German Shepard/Belgian Malinois mix.

Misti took on our pup in October 2024. She had her about 30 days, wow what a difference. Gracie originally showed aggressive tendencies, was hyper and had no manners, but after Misti worked with her, she was a changed dog. She learned manners, sit, place, down, stay and off. You could even take her in public places and she remained calm. Misti also communicated with us on a weekly basis regarding Gracie’s progress, with a report card, pictures and videos. It was amazing watching Gracie work and learn. Misti did a super job with Gracie.

I highly recommend Misti and the training program with Camp Lucky. For our family and Gracie, it was a game changer!

Misty with Camp Lucky made our lives so much easier when it came to our pup!! Our dog is so smart and should have been easy to train but his drive for food and desire to herd has been a pain point. Misty was able to train him and sent great updates. We no longer have to worry about him misbehaving with a need to herd other dogs on the other side of the fence! Thanks Misty!

Absolutely LOVE Misty!!!! She took my heathen of a child from not walking on a leash, not listening to commands at all, basically not being a behaved dog to a very well behaved member of the family. She is still a heathen but a well behaved heathen. Misty is absolutely the beat trainer I have ever used and I have used a few. She is patient with both the handler and the dog. She is consistent with her progress reports and we just love her energy. She is just a great genuine person which is a bonus to a great trainer. I won’t ever use anyone else. Camp Lucky got lucky with her. Thanks Misty!!!

I signed Bear (our 7 month mini Aussie doodle) for the Camp Lucky Board and Train. I was a little hesitant about sending him off for 7 days but once we met Lianna, Bear’s trainer, I felt relief. She was really sweet with him and he had no problem leaving with her. She sent us nightly video updates and written report of his progress. She worked on house training She taught us how to correct annoying behavior such as barking, licking dishes while I’m loading dishwasher and not coming when called. With the special collar training, he now walks off leash, knows and follows heal command and comes when called. At the end of the 7 days Lianna spent close to 2 hours teaching all of us the commands taught and how to use training collar. Bear was a new dog. I now know what’s acceptable behavior and what’s not. Lianna answered all our questions but best of all she was so sweet and firm with Bear.

We had an amazing experience with Camp Lucky. Our pup, Griffin, learned so many skills from Misty during his two week board and train program with her. When Griffin turned 2, he began showing signs of being reactive and we were a little overwhelmed by those changes in his behavior. We reached out to Camp Lucky and had an initial in-home meeting to talk about what we want to gain from training and see what program Griffin would be a good fit for. While the thought of leaving him for two weeks was scary, he was in excellent hands and came back a new dog with all that he’d learned, and we learned how to work with him to continue his new skills at home.

We got frequent text updates + report cards a couple of times per week and those were so fun to watch his progress and see how happy he was.

We would definitely recommend Camp Lucky and plan to train future dogs, even just for basic obedience, at Camp Lucky again!

We can’t say enough great things about Camp Lucky! Lianna was so wonderful with our energetic, 10 month old goldendoodle. We struggled to enjoy having him as part of our family because he was constantly counter surfing, eating things he shouldn’t, pulling on a leash, and just overall not listening. He’s been home for a month now, and it is like having a different dog. He listens, follows commands, and is just so much happier and calmer now that he knows his job. We loved receiving daily video and photo updates from Lianna while she trained Cooper. This taught us so much about how we should be working with him before he even came back home. Thank you, Lianna and Camp Lucky!

I rescued a dog and was told she was 6 but it turns out she was 2 with a lot of energy. The biggest problem was she pulled me when walking which was a problem with me being a senior with arthritis. She needed training and that is when I contacted Camp Lucky dog training and met Ryan Hayes.

Though at first I was leery of using a shock collar, Grace returned a different dog. She is well behaved but still has her playfulness. She minds, no longer pulls when walking and no longer jumps up when greeting people. I live in a retirement community and every one is complimentary of the change in her.

I can’t say enough about Ryan and Aaron and their caring attitude in their training approach making sure you’re comfortable with the exchange with your pet when returning home. Ryan was in constant communication posting videos and pictures the training progress on your personal pet portal.

I highly recommend Camp Lucky Dog Training and when your pet returns home, be diligent in using the collar until your loved one understands the verbal commands for best long term results.

I highly recommend Camp Lucky and Trainer Ryan Hayes. This was an amazing experience for Mr Bowzer and I, and not just us, but our entire household of many other dogs. Mr Bowzer was dumped by his original owners, who kept him locked in an outdoor pen and didn't teach him a thing. Poor guy didn't even know how to sit. I started working with him right away, treat training has always worked with others but not this one. Although he was learning fast, it got to a point real quick where if he caught me empty handed he would try to eat my hands. He also thought whatever I had was for him and would forcibly try to take it. He was becoming incredibly possessive of me as well. And with so many others in the house it was definitely creating tension. His play with others was not aggressive in nature but incredibly fast and rough, which created more problems. He had little to no chill and could not stand being away from me for even 5 minutes, so his greetings were rough and rowdy, he would lunge and jump all over me, scratch me, grab my hands and arms with his mouth, about knocked me over on multiple occasions. It was becoming exhausting and frustrating and I knew I needed help, but the ideal of sending him to a complete stranger for a few weeks terrified me. I started my Google search anyways and came across Camp Lucky. First thing I noticed is the incredible amount of 5 star reviews. There's no way that many people could be wrong. So I kept exploring the website and I noticed the many different options and it sounded like exactly what we needed to do. I'm so glad we made the choice and ended up with Ryan. He was an absolute godsend with my boy. He kept in constant contact and sent pictures and videos and updates and definitely put my worried mind to ease. The report cards just kept coming, every other day a new, in detail report card outlining where they've been, what they've been doing, noting all the things they've been working on and how much progress was being made, along with a ton of pictures and videos. The very first one I received, Mr Bowzer had only been there for 2 days and I could not believe he was talking about the same dog I left him with. I thought this guy must be magic. But I don't believe in magic, he's just very good at what he does and he instantly built a bond between himself and Bowzer that was very solid and very special. This isn't just a job to Ryan, it's his absolute passion and he's very good and very talented at what he does. I had absolutely zero complaints or concerns throughout this experience. This is Bowzers 3rd day being back home and I promise you life is so much better for him, for me, and all the other dogs. He is much calmer and he listens incredibly well now.. he doesn't jump on me anymore, doesn't bite my hands and try to take everything from me. If he gets too rowdy with the others. I tell him OFF and he instantly stops and returns to minding his own business, along with many other wonderful changes. Not only did Ryan train Bowzer to be the absolute best boy, he also trained me to be a better dog parent and the importance of keeping things simple and consistent. The training doesn't stop when they come home, but with Ryan he gives you all the tools and resources to keep things going. And they offer refresher courses for free for the lifetime of your dog in case other issues arise in the future and you need additional help. That is amazing and something completely unheard of with other companies. To say we are completely satisfied would be an understatement. We are incredibly thankful, beyond what words could ever express. This experience has completely changed our lives. Camp Lucky has several great trainers available in the Kansas City area, but I highly recommend Ryan, he's very good with the dogs, very good with the humans, very kind and patient, very down to earth, incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviors, and the solutions to those behaviors. His communication skills are amazing and he's just an overall good vibe. Thank you so much Ryan and Camp Lucky.
