DO NOT RENT HERE. Pool is rarely ever open and the gym is NEVER cleaned, it’s disgusting. They almost never replace the Clorox wipes and never put hand sanitizer. Visitor Parking is a joke. Insanely limited spots available and you can only get 2 passes per vehicle per month. I’m sorry, I thought I was the one paying for my rent?! x) Maintenance is not great. They're good at replacing light bulbs LOL. Any serious stuff, good luck. I’ve had a broken window since I moved in & have let them know that water leaks through when it rains and it gets very hot/cold in my room depending if it’s summer/winter time. They’ve come to fix it about 3 times but never actually did. I’ve given up at this point. I still feel a cold breeze come in through my window. I’ve also had rats in my pipes try to come in to my bathtub. When I called about the incidents, the office was closed and the operator said I had to wait over the weekend until the office was open so they could help. They treat the matter with such condescension and don’t care about residents having to deal with rat problems. This should not be an issue. It’s a total hazard and they do not show any sense of urgency.

3 different types of inspections every 3 months is absolutely crazy and you have no choice they can just walk right in. Craziest thing is during one of their inspections at 10:00 in the morning I was still completely asleep in my bedroom they walked into my apartment opened my bedroom door in which I was ass naked completely asleep I am a hard sleeper and I sleep with a box fan on so I did not hear them I only jumped up startled awake when the girl opened my bedroom door saying inspection. This is absolutely not okay. Currently they have sent out an inspection notice for February 24th to February 28th that is a 5-day window they don't tell you when they've done your inspection if they've gone in while you weren't home so you have no idea for the next 5 days if they completed it. All you know is you'll likely be walked in on while you're in the shower or while you're completely asleep maybe naked like I was in bed. No apartment does as many inspections as this place does and then gives 5-day windows for when they're going to show up. I also would like to note my car was stolen 5 days before Christmas right out of The gated apartment complex. When we asked if they could look at camera footage they said it would take too long to look at Saturday night's camera footage. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

I genuinely cannot believe how braindead the management is. Nearly all the non-resident/non-covered parking is completely empty but any guest who parks there is immediately towed. They are clearly plotting with the towing companies to get some sort of kickbacks because dozens of people are towed every week. It's predatory and very deliberate. The residents are now organizing a lawsuit, expect to hear from our lawyer

They charge for everything an anything, the back gate hasn't been working with my key card since i got here, the parking situation is so ridiculous, guests can even park there because they get towed having to pay 250 dollars, they only allow you two visits per month as if they were the onces paying rent. The leycard to the ameneties almost never work. I got fined 900 dollars for having my mom bring my two dogs over to visit me and you get no privacy on your balcony as they make you remove any mesh cover or shade you put. They also dont clean the apartments before you get there, when i first got there there was a dead spider in my tub and worms on the couch from the previous owner.

(EDITED)
Everything is always broken and the amenities that are promised are never open. I have had to find a ride back to my apartment on multiple occasions because the shuttle broke down and they offered no compensation. I've lived here for almost a year and have barely even seen the pool open. They also only allow a resident to have visitors twice a month, which is ridiculous. I am paying to live here, I should be able to invite anyone I want into my place at any time, however many times I want. I am paying almost $1000 dollars a month and my friends can't even come and see me. It sucks. The WiFi is unreliable and they don’t fix things even when I tell maintenance it’s broken. Instead, they blame it on me. There were two broken chairs when I moved in and my toilet broke a couple months later. My stove top is breaking off and my washing machine is EXTREMELY loud. They provide a very small amount of guest parking and will tow anyone who parks in the many open resident spots. Their hallways are absolutely disgusting and there’s dog poop all over the property. While I am tied here by a lease, I encourage anyone who is thinking about moving here to stay FAR AWAY from here. They shove lease renewals down your throat before you’ve even had a chance to experience how terrible the place is. DO NOT LIVE HERE

EDIT: It’s Friday, 3:30pm. I just tried to go to the office to get a visitor pass for my mom to visit me this weekend because of their stupid visitors rule and guess what? Office is closed!! Looks like I won’t be seeing my mom this weekend. Thank you, Campus Crossings for this loving and welcoming community you have here. I’d rather live on my friends floor than ever renew my lease here again. I will say this again: Do NOT live here.

EDIT 2: The bus has been broken for weeks and they have a little van that can fit maybe 15 people that they use to get us to school. if the van gets filled, too bad, you have to figure it out yourself. Sometimes there’s not even a van and everyone has to drive themselves. There is no compensation for parking or anything. I have dropped about $30 dollars in parking in just the span of a little over a month. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if they didn’t advertise the shuttle on their site as part of the appeal. That is part of why I chose this apartment and they can’t even provide that. Today I got to the van and it had JUST gotten full. The bus driver didn’t even say anything. He just closed the doors and me and the three other people who couldn’t get to school watched. I was late to my class because I couldn’t find parking. Thank you, Campus Crossings ❤️

After living at Campus Crossings at Star Pass for several years, I can confidently say that this place is one of the worst apartment complexes in Tucson. The management has consistently failed to address serious issues, such as recurring flooding incidents that have left my unit damaged and uninhabitable. Instead of properly fixing these problems, they provided inadequate maintenance, which did not resolve the underlying issues. Despite this, they had the audacity to charge me for carpet replacement due to damage that was clearly a result of their neglect.

The "security system" here is another major frustration. Unlike most other complexes, there is no gate code for entry. Instead, residents are given physical gate cards, but guests and delivery services can't enter without one. This often leaves guests waiting outside until someone can come to let them in, or they have to "coattail" behind another car to gain access. It's a huge inconvenience for anyone trying to visit or deliver to residents.

To make matters worse, the towing practices are predatory and excessive. Vehicles are often towed without proper notice, leaving residents stranded and facing hefty fines. It seems like the management is more interested in maintaining a business relationship with a non-BBB-accredited towing company (i.e., A&B Towing) than ensuring a comfortable living environment.

Guest parking is also severely lacking. There are very few spots, which are always full, forcing guests to park far away or risk getting towed. It’s unacceptable that such a large complex cannot accommodate its residents and their visitors properly.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Campus Crossings at Star Pass. There are far better options out there.

Edit: Full experience after moving out. I've lived here for 3 years.

The good: Nice pool, gated complex, great views (depending on your specific apartment), covered parking available, garbage cans right outside each building, quick maintenance, (usually) friendly staff, apartment was in okay condition upon move-in.

The bad: Pool frequently closed due to the not-so-smart college students who live here, main gate FREQUENTLY break, side gate has been broken for months with no attempt to fix, staff doesn't allow the gates to be opened for visitors, not enough visitor parking, usually difficult to get cars towed out of your spot, garbage cans are spilled nearly every day because they don't know how to build a fence to keep out javelinas, they're charging me for blinds that were worn out (they were old when I moved in) and refuse to listen to me, hallways are disgusting and never cleaned, roommate and I had to call security and police over 10 times before my downstairs neighbors decided to turn their music down (staff told me they take action after 5 complaints but this is clearly not the case), I've seen one of the managers being very rude to people over the phone and in person, we were promised an upgrade each year we stayed and received nothing, VERY overpriced compared to my new apartment (new one is bigger, the complex is nicer, staff is more professional, it's in a much nicer part of town, and it's several hundred dollars cheaper per month).

Side note: This apartment has offered free internet since I moved in. A couple months ago, they announced gigabit internet upgrades. Great right? Turns out the gigabit speed is divided among each apartment. I was seeing a max of 20gbps vs about 15gbps before the "upgrade." The new network also rendered my private network and expensive Nighthawk router 100% useless. Google Homes and Chromecasts also do not work on the new network. If you value your privacy and freedom on the internet, I would stay away from Campus Crossings for this reason alone. Go somewhere that lets you choose your own provider.

Verdict: Overall, it's not the worst place to live. I may have made it seem that way, but I'm being honest and I know there are some terrible complexes out there. It looks nice from far away and in pictures, but upon a closer inspection the buildings are old and the whole complex is not kept clean at all. If you're considering living here, do more research. It definitely feels like they don't care about you, especially after this negative move out experience. There are better apartments out there for similar pricing or less; I would not recommend that anyone live here. I'm happy to be moving out.

I hope this lengthy review can help some people make a decision!

just moved out after living here for 2 years and honestly the only good thing i have to say about this place is that the front office staff is incredible. i’ve had such positive experiences with every single one of them and however much money they’re making it’s not enough.

the rest of my experience here was mediocre at best. the wifi was unreliable, the pool was often closed for long periods of time, and the gym was closed for multiple months at one point. bedrooms are also *significantly* smaller than the ones in the model apartments. the guest parking situation is absolutely terrible, it was always very frustrating when the very few guest parking spots were full and guests would have to park elsewhere unless they wanted to get towed. shortly before i moved out they changed the parking policy and made it worse which i didn’t think was possible, residents must now get a guest parking pass from the front office which means if you decide to have someone over on a weekend or in the evening you’re out of luck. guest passes are also limited to a maximum of two days in a month.

my biggest issues were with maintenance and management. in general maintenance would take about a week to respond to any requests. when i first moved into my apartment the refrigerator did not work properly and management refused to fix it, claiming multiple times that it worked fine while my and my roommate’s food was going bad. it took multiple maintenance requests for them to finally give in and replace it with a fridge from some other apartment that also did not work very well. the apartment’s ac unit also had a leak for over three months because each of the EIGHT times that maintenance came to “fix” it, they drained the water that had pooled in the unit and did nothing else. with both the fridge and the ac, management had to be contacted for maintenance to actually fix the problem, and both times management was incredibly rude and dismissive, arguing and even ignoring emails.

would not recommend living here. lol
