I took my dog to Coddled Critters for almost 3 years. He loved daycare. However, I have since stopped going due to how they poorly handled a situation where they were clearly in the wrong and aside from repetitive apologies, did nothing to reconcile the mistake.

I have an Australian shepherd (pics attached) and have taken him to get groomed since he was a puppy. I want to be clear that this has NEVER happened before. Last year, August 2024, he received a terrible groom that even the manager was appalled by. His butt fluff was completely shaved off. The manager graciously agreed to groom him themselves next time which they did and it was great. Unfortunately, this manager no longer works there.

A few weeks ago, I dropped him off for a full groom and daycare. At drop off, I very specifically asked them not to shave off his butt fluff again. I would’ve even preferred them to just bathe him, trim his paws, and leave the butt for me to trim. The staff at the front desk assured me I would get a call if they were thinking of shaving and that they left a note for the groomer. When I picked him up, my heart sunk when I saw what was done to him AGAIN! And it is worse this time. When I expressed my frustration, they apologized, charged me $150, and said the manager would call me. When they finally called, all they did was apologize and offer a free groom next time. When I said I am never taking him back there to be groomed, they offered nothing alternative to compensate me. They said they would “try to work something out.” What should have happened was an offer to refund me for the groom. Instead, it’s been weeks and I haven’t heard anything.

I am taking my business somewhere else that treats their customers with more respect.

You guys have been my lifesaver! Having an energetic puppy is a full time job in itself and having the Coddled Critters has saved my sanity. My pup loves it there and drags me to the door when I bring her for daycare.

A special shoutout to Brooke and the training program is needed because she is a miracle worker. She helped my dog overcome her separation anxiety and even did a consultation with my puppy and my older dog to observe their relationship and helped me better understand how to foster their friendship.

Coddled Critters has been a blessing for me and my dog. I recommend them to anyone looking for daycare in Davis County.

Im assuming this is the only way to get a refund. My dog went there a few times and without the staff telling me I noticed my dog limping. After I discovered she has big cuts on her paw from the hot gravel I asked that she not be allowed to play on the gravel. After picking her up again and now it's worse all the staff could say is "takes time for the dogs to get use to it". My dog can't even walk, it's a huge nasty hot spot on her paw. I paid upfront and asked them to just charge for the days I came and to refund the rest and all I'm getting is the run around which means they really need the money. So now im disputing with my bank and leaving this review to warn others. Be careful with careless doggie day care centers who don't care about your little one.

Jackie our am-staffy absolutely loves this place and the place is clean smells good which some boarding places do not. Only place we will use in SLC area. They send you a report card and pictures with updates. Don't use anyone else they are the best. Jackie the Am-staffy approved.

This review is still pending a review of my bill by their manager, but I was basically charged for multiple things that I did not request, did not was not notified at the confirmation nor at dropping the dogs off. Suddenly my bill is almost double what I was quoted. They charged me an extra large kennel when I requested a large, they charged me for two extra large kennels even though I have a tiny dog and a regular size dog and they slept together. They charged me to play with my dog because he is not yet fixed even though that wasn’t disclosed (and I did disclose his lack of surgery yet at booking). They charged a peak rate fee because there was a holiday near this, but it wasn’t over the holiday nor was this additional charge disclosed. They did disclose that they charge a 3.5% processing fee, but that percentage is a lot lower when you don’t double my cost. They also require vaccinations at a more frequent schedule than every other boarding service I’ve been with, so I had to pay for a special vaccination even though my dogs are up-to-date at any other location. I really like the people who work there, and I think they do a good job, but the billing is not transparent nor is it a fair rate for the service requested and provided.

I love this place very much they take great care of my pets and are very nice and friendly towards me and my family. I have seen the amount of time that the staff spends with our dogs and appreciate the fact that they care for each and every dog that comes here. I would recommend taking you dogs here without a doubt.

We absolutely love this place. Our pup is very social and is full of energy. He loves going to daycare and playing with a bunch of friends. He comes home happy and is always excited to go back. Highly recommend!

My dog LOVED going to daycare in Albuquerque and after five days of going here, I couldn’t get her in the SUV so I could take her there. She jumps in excitedly to go anywhere else. I don’t know what happened, but I trust that she didn’t have a positive experience. She also got diarrhea and had one eye mat up for a few weeks (the vet checked it out, it wasn’t anything serious). They also don’t have cameras so you can observe the staff interactions with your dog.

Lastly, I was usually the only person in the parking lot when I was dropping her off or picking her up, so I pulled up parallel to the sidewalk right in front of the entrance (just like everyone has ever done at any dog daycare I’ve used in the past 15 years, like a school drop off point). There was room for other people to line up behind me if they wanted. I was also only there for about five minutes or less.

The last time I took her, the employee working in the front told me I couldn’t do that since they had so many trucks using their lot. The lot was empty at the time and was usually empty when I was there, with the exception of the employee’s vehicles. It felt like a petty assertion of power, since I wasn’t inconveniencing or endangering anyone.

This wouldn’t have been a big deal , I would have followed their rules if my girl had liked going, but ultimately, I trust her refusal to go.

She occasionally had a couple of scratches after daycare, I don’t necessarily think that this was anything bad, just her roughhousing with other dogs. If you choose this daycare, just go with your eyes wide open and park in the designated parking spaces.
