This is my first experience with a daycare and I must say that I am so impressed with how much care Virgil takes of my dog. He shares his insights into dog behavior and makes excellent suggestions. My dog is so excited to go that he gets impatient with red lights delaying our arrival. I feel that anyone would be well served to entrust their pets to Virgil and his lovely wife.

Our pup is so happy to be dropped off for daycare at DogConnection which I think shows how much she loves going and her time there. We just started boarding her and she did great. The owner loves dogs and has vast knowledge of their behavior. After her intake he nailed her in his rundown - he picked up on her exact personality in the quick time he had with her. I trust them to look after her, care for her, and ensure she enjoys some much needed play and social time.

I recommend this place if you’re looking for a reliable daycare/boarding place for your dog. I appreciate how the owner, Virgil, is always present and always gives me a report on how my dog did during the day. This was my dogs first daycare/boarding experience and I definitely felt the worries on how the evaluation, daycare and boarding might go for my high energy dog. However I have continuously felt reassured that my dog is in hands and that the staff are looking out for the well being of all the dogs. We recently tried out the boarding here after doing daycare for full days and half days for some months and things went smoothly!

Dog Connections PDX is the best dog daycare and boarding facility I have found, and I have tried many. The owners are always at the facility and they clearly have great experience with training dogs and great knowledge of dog behaviors. Dog connection is our preferred daycare in the north Portland area. The owner is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and care and always communicates how our dog was during his time there (unlike some other daycares in which you're expected to pay extra for any information about their day, which is a little much and feels very impersonal). He gives helpful suggestions as well which is a great indicator that he not only knows and understands our dog but actually cares about his wellbeing. Additionally, our dog has some medical issues that the owners have dealt with in stride and we are truly so appreciative of them for it. I highly recommend this business as you can really trust that your dog is in good hands!

We received a good review of this place from some neighbors, so we went to try it out. The worker who came to get our dog was immediately rude and asked with a specific tone “uh has your dog gone to daycare before?” (because our dog has a lot of energy which is why we bring her to daycare). I said “yes, plenty of times, at Club K-9.” And he responded “Why isn’t she there then?” I responded that I received a good review and wanted to try out this place. When we picked up our pup after her assessment session, he changed his tone and was telling us how our dog just has lots of energy and needs to get it out. We know this and that is why we take her to daycare but his rude attitude left a sour taste our mouth and will not be taking our dog back there. Quality customer service and friendly people goes a long way.. this is what the worker there was lacking.
