I’d been working in private security for 3 to 4 years when I decided I was ready to branch out into a new category in this line of work. Executive Protection or Personal Protection seemed to have some overlapping qualities in terms of duties, responsibilities, skill set, amongst many other things. Truthfully, though, I didn’t go in knowing just how much I’d take away from, first the 6 day unarmed course, followed by the 4 day advanced firearms course.

For the 6 day EP course I walked away with a certification in first aid, CPR. AED, as well as obviously having learned the necessary steps to successfully help someone who may be in need of first aid. On top of that I learned and was given the opportunity to practice packing wounds, applying tourniquets, Israeli bandages, chest seals, and a few other things. I honestly learned so much I would be doing a disservice to Chris by trying to cram everything into the review without proper explanation. I can say that I felt like it was important to have gone through each step of the course and fully intend on maintaining and refining these newfound skills and training to carry forward in my endeavors.

I also walked away from the advanced firearms course feeling far more comfortable handling and being accurate with my EDC handgun than I had up to this point in my career. If you feel like you have decent experience handling a handgun but are looking for the extra step that will take you to the next level, this course is definitely a great place to start. It was also nice to have gone through all 10 days with most of the same students, all of which had something unique and useful to bring to the table. Getting to train, bond, and just spend time with these individuals truly felt like a privilege .

Most importantly, aside from having the training and experience to move forward as an EP agent, I feel more confident and comfortable going to work as a security guard than I ever had before taking the two courses.

A majority of fellow students had former military or law enforcement backgrounds, and there was admittedly an intimidating gap in experience. Chris has a remarkable teaching style that accounts for this: by encouraging investment in different perspectives and knowing what you don't know, all of us were very quickly on an even playing field working together efficiently in an ego-free environment. I'm proud and grateful to have learned so much from an experienced instructor, as well as made the connections I have with everyone else in class. The experience has already paid dividends in the wealth of new knowledge I can carry away with me, as well as the confidence to utilize it.

My experience at Executive Security concepts was awesome. I learned a lot and also got a lot of experience on things that I hadn't learned before. I already have 17+ years of unarmed and armed security protection experience and still learned a lot. Prior to Chris's Executive Protection course I was trained as a armed force protection officer at a military academy in Washington DC. However it still couldn't hold a candle to what we learned at Chris's executive protection training. I've assisted secret service with President Bush, President Obama and also protected B-list music celebrities when they perform in the DC area. Chris is a great trainer awesome instructor very experienced, knowledgeable and patient and transparent. I recommend this course to anyone interested in Executive Security as a career or experience under your belt.

I attended Class 8 and at that time, having relative work experiences throughout various capacities, I gained a lot of new knowledge that was actually applicable to the jobs I’d later work for the company.
