We dropped our 2 dogs off before our Thanksgiving trip to stay at the lodge. The gentleman that received our pets mentioned one of our dogs needed to be updated on her shots. My wife stated that they were up to date and to call Cottonwood Vet to get a record of it. After coming back from our Thanksgiving trip, we picked up our dogs and they stated they gave one of our dogs all updated shots. This was approved by them without calling us before even doing it otherwise we would have stated AGAIN to get the records from Cottonwood. We had to pay for this on top of the lodging. The manager called is back who was very nice but never mentioned a refund but instead offered and free grooming service. What a joke! We wanted our refund and they stated they would talk with the owner. Never heard anything back. This place is a joke and heard other stories as well about other issues other people had as well. I don't recommend going to this place for any reason.

Our pets have stayed here on many occasions. I don't know if management has changed, but we will never trust Happy Tails ever again. There's really too many things to type on how they dropped the ball. Just
know they don't listen, write down anything you tell them, and probably don't know which pet is yours. This is Kerry Province.

I had high hopes bringing my dogs here based on the website and friends' personal experience. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. When I dropped my dogs off, I was sure they would have a great time as the girl working behind the counter was extremely friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. I had called prior to bringing my dogs in to see if they could collect a stool sample from my female as she's been having some issues and I wanted to get to the bottom of it and figured this would be an easy time to do that. They assured me they could take care of it, and the girl at the front desk even double checked with me to make sure I still wanted to go ahead with it, which I did. I picked them up roughly 6 days later. The front desk staff was not welcoming or polite, just stated at me when I wake in (not the same people as the day I dropped off), didn't give me any kind of update on how my dogs were or how their stay was, didn't have any kind of daily sheet to give me, and when I asked about the sample they were supposed to collect, they didn't seem to have any idea. I then called the clinic that they are tied into to ask about the sample and they couldn't give me an answer and said they would call back. I then had to call a week later since I hadn't received a return call and they informed me that the staff at the boarding facility didn't think there was anything wrong (not sure what makes them qualified to make that decision) so they chose not to collect a sample. They then offered that I could come in and see them for a consultation. If you couldn't do one simple task that was asked why do you think I would want to spend more time and money with you. I will not be boarding my dogs here again as I cannot even be sure that they were properly cared for. Very disappointing.

My granddaughter works at Happy Tails Pet Lodge. That aside, Happy Tails Pet Lodge is well kept and clean. The pets that I have seen seem to have a good time running out in the play areas that they have there.

I love the convenience of an all in one lodging, immunizations, grooming, and when the time comes, cemetery.
Cleo gets so excited when we pull up to the lodge. They take good care of her in my absence. Highly recommend.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABIES TO HAPPY TAILS PET LODGE IN KEARNEY NE!!!!!

I boarded Ruby August 29th and picked her up September 3rd. Upon arrival they had asked me if she had been coughing, I said no, and they took her with no problem. Ruby was in their care for five days. While she was there she was dewormed. While she was there she also caught kennel cough. She was there for five days. Not one of those days did someone call me telling me she was sick and needed to be picked up. Not one of those days was she properly cared for. For five days my dog was neglected by people I TRUSTED to care for her. When I picked Ruby up, she was physically sick- red goopy eyes, congested, coughing. You can tell she wasnt well. Nobody told me kennel cough was going around at THEIR FACILITY. Nobody said anything when I picked her up. They just sent her home. The day I brought her home she was hacking up piles of white foam, having breathing fits were she just couldn’t breathe, and couldnt keep her eyes clear of goop. The next day I called to let them know they might have kennel cough at their facility and they might want to take extra precautions to make sure other dogs aren’t getting sick like mine. The woman I talked to on the phone had expressed that they had gotten several phone calls regarding other peoples dogs having kennel cough from their facility as well, and that they actually had to turn down two dogs the day I called for kennel cough. She told me to call my vet and ask for the medication and that they have gotten so many phone calls about it they werent even doing exams. Just giving out the medicine. Ruby was put on two different medication‘s for 10 days where she progressively got worse. She is now being medicated for an additional two weeks, hoping we can clear up whatever she now has. I’m making this post so others can be made aware of the obvious neglect, sanitation, and communication problem Happy Tails Pet Lodge has. Had I been informed that kennel cough was at that facility I would’ve never left her in their care. They told me it’s the “risk” I run bringing her there. Fair! But its not fair to leave me in the dark and then my dog suffers in the end because of it. It wasnt a risk I took, it was them not doing their jobs! SIMPLE AS THAT! THEY SHOULD’VE told me when I picked her up something was wrong and CHOSE NOT TO. THEY SHOULD’VE TOLD ME BEFORE I EVEN DROPPED HER OFF AND AGAIN CHOSE NOT TO. They had Ruby in their care for five days, and if they claim to watch them and love them as much as they do then they would know something was wrong with her. and they CHOSE, ONCE AGAIN to ignore her. They show their “care” when it’s too late. They let my baby sit in a kennel for five days MISERABLE, SICK, ANXIOUS. AND NOW SHE HAS TO PAY FOR IT! i left one star cause i had to - zero stars is my honest rating.

I wanted a typical Schnauzer cut for my 12 week old baby she has been cut 2 other times elsewhere and has been cut correctly in AZ and CO.
There for I asked for the same here. Upon my arrival back to get her.
He said he cut her shorter then normal which was his call until she gets rid of her puppy fur. I am extremely unhappy.
Also after calling and letting him know I was unhappy about her hair cut and I have had a Schnauzer before this is not the way I expected her to be cut he just laughed at me and said they are cut that way for shows. I have her as a pet I except her to be cut the way we requested not the way he had chosen to cut her. Dollie is extremely little and now looks like a skinny bald rat.

If I could post before and after photos I would.
At the end of our conversation he didn't even apologize for any of it just said he hopes we bring her back again. Well that will be the last thing I will do.
