Steer clear of this practice. Dr. Kottapalli is negligent and the whole Mount Sinai contacting system is flawed—no direct number to reach the office or doctor and have instead been directed to send a message through MyChart’s patient portal. She has taken days to respond to a message I sent in regards to a medication that she had wanted me to start treatment on ASAP…How am I to start treatment if you fail to send me my prescription to the pharmacy? (Update: still have not received my medication) Also misdiagnosed me as positive with TB and unintentionally withheld my STD test results on one occasion (and it was one of the incurable ones—naturally that’d send anyone into a state of worry for 96hrs). One visit also included me coming in not being entirely sure if I have a certain infection or not then proceeds to ask me which infection I think I have (like ma’am that’s why I am here, how am I supposed to know)—I asked for a culture swab and she proceeds to ask me if I want to swab it myself down there… like no!—I am here because I am looking for your expertise and trust that you can swab me? (Granted, she may have had a tough work day and did seem burnt out but damn). And naturally doctors will not admit to any wrongdoing or take accountability so I just felt mentally taxed and gaslit.

Absolutely terrible. It's really such a shame that administration is handled on such a deplorable manner here, and honestly don't have great things to say about the doctors either. This place doesn't have a phone number to reach anyone, the facilities themselves are poorly maintained, and the personnel who respond to the emails (when they actually do respond to emails) are unfriendly, uncompassionate, and unprofessional. It's completely impossible to actually get in touch with your doctor via the portal. I had such high hopes for this place when they opened a few years ago, but service on behalf of administration has been on a steep decline. Zero stars if I could. It's a shame that Mount Sinai is even affiliated with HealthQuarters, as I have many doctors with the Mount Sinai system and I know the way that HealthQuarters runs this operation is not how things should be done.

Problematic. They have some good apples, but as a whole the practice is problematic. Errors in billing, never corrected. No sense of accountability. & when you address fraudulent claims they threaten with collections. Paying what I owe and moving to NYU for care. My doctor was phenomenal, but Sinai is a horrible health care system. I wouldn’t recommend it for anything requiring continuity of care, follow through, etc.

Review for the Mt. Sinai office: It's an absolute nightmare. Dr. Kottapalli is really nice and I have no issues with her care. But it's very difficult to work with the staff on referrals, prescriptions, etc. There is no direct phone line to the office so you have to send them messages that can go unanswered for over a week. For a recent radiology appointment and I had to 1) follow up with them to send me the referral; and 2) the office never even initiated the prior authorization process with my insurance company after I had followed up twice! I had to reschedule the scan, which was annoying to say the least.

Dr. Kottapali coded the bill incorrectly causing me to get a bill for $250 out of pocket and it took 6 months for her and her team to amend this after I followed up a dozen times and labcorp reported me to a collection agency for not paying her incorrectly coded bill. Not only that she ignored my symptoms and concerns. When I asked for a new doctor they said they don’t do “cross-referrals” so now I have to go elsewhere. This place has pretty furniture but they suck otherwise.

Get yourself a real receptionist instead of a security guard on power trip. Sits behind a sign that says masks are still required in medical practices and he won’t wear it.

I booked an appointment at HealthQuarters fro Smile Lab since I needed a new dentist. They are great! And very convenient location downtown off of Houston Street and Broadway. I continue to have work done there. They even help set up a payment plane with me without applying for a loan. I know they have a physical Therapy company there as well. Looking to use them as well. Upkeep can be a little better. They are very modern and clean in general, but when I was waiting in one of the rooms there was a large/hard to miss dead plant in the corner that had obviously been there for weeks that could easily have been thrown out and some paint touch up needed on the walls.

The doctors here are awesome. You can usually get an appointment a week out if you’re sick. However, the actual process of getting prescriptions or referrals here is an absolute nightmare. I’ve had 5 times now where I have called 3-4 times to be sure my referral is sent to my specialist in time for my appointment and I am waiting at the office for this place to send it over. The hold times on the phone are very long and more often than not the staff is very sour with you when you’re asking for someone to communicate with you. I do not understand where the missing link here is, but it’s so frustrating I’m considering switching doctors.
