I can't say enough good things about Huffman K9 obedience! They completely transformed my reactive dog and, just as importantly, taught me how to be a better owner. The change in my dog is incredible – from constantly reacting to everything, he's now calm and confident. But what I appreciate most is how they focused on building a trusting relationship between my dog and me. We trained with Allen, who was incredible and overall so helpful. He taught us not only better communication with our pup but more importantly the why behind training. We were able to work on countless numbers of different types of training and different techniques that best fit our needs in different situations. They truly are the best!!

When we first got Klaus, we brought him to 1 other trainer who said he was “too crazy, wanted to party all day, and wouldn’t fit into the pack” & that we should try another place.. they couldn’t handle his working breed.
We found Huffman and have been bringing him here since he was 16 weeks old, he is now 1 year and 6 mos!
He loves Kayla, and has overcome so many obstacles and is obedient. He’s a much more confident boy, and we plan to continue here at Huffman K9!

In 2022, our then 21 year old daughter, who is neurodivergent, wanted to train Nellie, her 2yo McNab as her service dog. We had been told by 2 other trainers that Nellie was too skittish and they advised against it.

Then we found Jensen Huffman.

Our daughter (now age 24) is about to move out of our house and into her first apartment with Nellie as her certified service dog ❤️

Experts you can trust. Accepting of all types of families. Willing to train working dogs and general obedience. Expect that it is you, the human, being trained on how to improve and grow your relationship and expectation with your dog. We make the drive from Portland to Huffman because they are soooo good for us and for the community of people we’re meeting.

Knowledgeable staff, actual dog people. Nice facility. Able to explain the how's and why of your fur babies actions with different ways to alter it. I recommend if you want your baby to grow and learn.

A big thank you to Jensen, Ryan, and the entire Huffman K9 team for working with us and our insecure, reactive pittie Milo. We purchased a 10-class package and it was worth every penny. I appreciated the knowledge that was shared and how Jensen explained what my dog was doing and why. We had some intense, eye opening sessions where huge strides were made and also setbacks along the way but there was definitely progress made:
- Milo is more attentive to us since we started hand-feeding him.
- Definitely more confident in new environments (Hello, obstacle course!)
- Impulse control - still very, very hard for him but there's progress.
- We're slowly crawling our way out of the reactivity setback (off-leash dog encounter during a walk) but I see him improving with every positive experience.
Perhaps the biggest lesson by far was self awareness and accountability. Anything from timing and clarity of commands to owning up my own emotions and how they affect my dog's reactivity. THAT is the biggest challenge - one that I'm not ashamed to admit (regaining trust is a process...). There's still so much work to be done but we're on the right track. Thanks, Huffman K9 team! I just want to say a big thank you to Huffman K9! Being first time dog owners we went big and got a Doberman puppy. We knew it would be difficult on our own so we decided to schedule the first appointment to just learn about what we would be getting ourselves into. Pepper being only 5mo old at the time we had some things we wanted to work on. We met Kayla and right away she gave us so much information. We were so impressed we purchased the 5 session package and got started. Because of Kayla I have gotten to see a new side of Pepper that I don’t think I would have ever known existed. I’ve watched her brain shift to understand what we’re asking of her, her grow confidence, and her develop a love for learning and completing new task. I cannot say enough nice things about your training facility, program, and trainers. Your program is worth every penny and I would do it all over again.
