We got this little bundle of joy a few weeks ago. The whole process was smooth and the staff were great.
The paperwork was a little extensive but we actually really appreciated that because we know how well they care for the animals and they only want the best for each one.

Thank you everyone at The Wilkes Humane Society.

Euthanized a fully adoptable kitten within one day of receiving him. Didn't even try after telling me they would.

I TOLD THEM TO CALL ME AND I WOULD TAKE HIM BACK IF THEY COULDN'T ADOPT HIM AND THEY KILLED HIM INSTEAD. Took me weeks to get his trust and catch him, and now he's dead for it.

I don't understand this killing of stray animals for their own good. I am in such emotional pain over this I can't stand it.

Edit: This response makes no sense. Did you read my review at all, murderers?

After my dog passed away I checked Wilkes County dog shelter, and they just so happened to have a pup up for adoption that was the same type of mutt as my old dog. Seemed like fate. The pup was with a caring foster, Blair, who took great care of her. Really cares about the animals and the homes they go to.

This is Josie. She's a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix we adopted at the adoption fair at Petsmart 7 years ago. She's the best furbaby. The Humane Society is wonderful to work with!!

They had a dog listed as Edward Scissorpaws. This dog is named Henry he went missing from a lovely home and it appears that he was brought to the human society. The owners saw their Facebook post and when they contacted the humane society they were told they had to pay them $400 up front and that Henry is now their property. These owners are lovely people who treat their animals like their own children and have had Henry for years. They have proof that he is their dog. Absolutely disgusting what they are doing and everyone involved should feel ashamed. My picture is blurry as I had to screen shot a video I have of him but as you can tell it’s him.

This humane society will not let my friend have her dog because they cannot afford a lump sum payment of $400. Said she couldn't afford vet care. She can afford his care!!!! You need to give Henry back to Theresa and Seth!!! If you adopt a little dog with one eye, know you are hurting a whole family that adores this little dog!!!!! This is not right Wilkes Co Humane Society! And I am only giving you a star so I can't post this!!! You are horrible to do this to this family! UPDATE....They have taken all facebook posts about Henry down so people don't know what they're doing to him!!!! GIVE HENRY BACK....His name is not Edward Scissorpaws!!!!

Have reached out to the Wilkes Humane society for My elderly mother, about several dogs. I do realize that This is a volunteer organization, ran by volunteers! I have sent repeated emails as well as multiple phone calls with no response! This is inexcusable how can anyone adopt an animal! Please if your volunteers cannot help then find new volunteers!!
