Purchased some tropical fishes. When I got home I realized one fish had a crocked spine. I called and spoke to Dwayne, he said just bring it back.I went back and Dwayne was really friendly and exchanged the fish. I decided to purchase a couple more fish and some frozen brine shrimp.When I went to the cashier Dwayne instructed the cashier to just charge me for the brine shrimp.He said" since I had to drive all the way back in traffic he didn't want to charge me for the fish." Experiencing this made me take the time out to write this review, This kind of aloha is a classic example why we should support locally owned businesses.

Our family has purchased several times and enjoyed shop, until today. Our entire family is sick to our stomachs with the condition of the puppies. Specifically, the husky puppies. They have the shop way too hot and humid for them that the poor guy is going to have, if not already, a heat stroke. He's clearly in distress, panting and worn out that it urinated himself, and he's laying in his water dish that it struggled to climb into. A lotta people shopping were just a distressed about it's condition but my 10 year old made sure to get staff to tend to it. When I told them they need to get a fan on it immediately, few young guys quickly rushed back and one of the young staff commented, "I knew it!" But they only changed pad a rinsed urine off of him. I hope staff reads comment. You probably have cooling pads in the store you sell. Use them. Put a fan on them and drop the air in the store drastically. These breeds have a difficult time here and have a thick second coat. Learn about the breeds' specific needs before selling them. I will preface that staff is very friendly but a lotta young kids with no leadership. I believe I saw owner or much older staff member, but he was completely oblivious of the condition of the dogs.

Great! Not cheap, however, service is good. Interesting array of goods and pets. Wish they had saltwater fish. Lots of people breeding saltwater fish now. Would be nice is a local store picked up on it.
Love the bird selection. Wish they had large parrots. I am looking for female Eclectus. My male lost his mate during breeding. 🤒 Aloha!

I purchased a baby rabbit here 20 days ago and it is still healthy and lively. I believe they feed the animals well. It's a small place but it has a lot to offer, it's a treasure

My FAVORITE pet store here in Hawaii. Their prices are reasonable, and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I purchased 2 very healthy parakeets from them and they were very helpful in answering all my questions. They had all the supplies that I needed when I had purchased my birds and I continue to go here for my birds food and anything else I may need. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kalihi Pet Center.
Lots of free parking too!

When it comes to pets and all you need for your pet, Kalihi Pet Center is the best. My husband and I were looking for a puppy for a long time. When we got to Kalihi Pet Store, they had several puppies (one was sold). All puppies at the store were adorable. When I was holding the puppy at Kalihi Store, I couldn't put him back. We are happy parents of our precious puppy, and feel so lucky to have him in our lives.

Locally owned & operated. Staff of local boys were very helpful, polite, professional, & friendly. They took the time to open & go through each aquarium kit until I found the perfect one to fit my specific needs.

Their selection was smaller than the chain stores, but Kalihi Pet Center obviously cares enough to choose only high quality items to sell. Floor to ceiling merchandise. Rows tight because they really packed in as much as they could.

I love animals, so I love pet stores. This is by far my favorite pet shop on the island. It's clean, well stocked, the staff is helpful and the animals, cages and tanks are clean and well looked after. I feel confident buying my birds and supplies from here.
