The Kaua`i North Shore Animal Clinic was wonderful. My normally healthy cat was sick. They had never seen us before but welcomed us. The service - entire staff - was excellent and kind. The Vet diagnosed our cat and gave us the necessary medicine. I am happy to report our cat is happy and healthy again. The Clinic is also very clean. I highly recommend them. Thank you for your caring and effective service.

First of all this has been my vet for several years. I will never go back, when I really needed them they showed no compassion. On Friday my poor kitty was in bad shape, I had noticed it starting the night before. The vet was closed on Friday (constantly changing their hours) , so the only option they had was telehealth. It’s $50 but whatever- the telehealth vet in Vegas said he wouldn’t make it thru the weekend. She said she would call my vet and they would be calling me right back. I was so relieved. Instead the telehealth vet called me back and said they refused to take me or even talk to me on the phone. I had no way whatsoever of reaching out. Called every vet on island frantic. No one could help. I was so frustrated I left a one star review and she called me within 5 min. Went back and fourth, she was so irritated with me for bothering them but I was desperate. She wanted me to go to Oahu but It sounded so overwhelming in the moment and he was so sick. We called Oahu emergency hospital and they were shocked that our vet was advising us to do this.
Jessica and I went back and fourth over several phone calls and they finally agreed to see him for emergency surgery Friday night- again I was so relieved. It was $2450, which we paid gladly. He did good in the surgery. We were grateful to Dr Casey and her tech. for showing up for us that night to help Koa. She was nice and gave us good instructions which we followed. Based on Friday night alone, we were grateful.
When we came home that night he was drugged, sleepy , but doing good considering. He was using the litter box around 2 am , talked to us, walked around a little bit … etc. next morning I gave the pain medicine as directed and he just went totally limp. Couldn’t lift his head. I told the vet the next day when she called and she said it’s good that he is sedated or else he’d be in pain. That made me feel better.
I had an appt on Sunday… Friday night we paid $2450 and since it was a Sunday I needed the money to hit the bank Monday morning. I have proof the money is there, I offered to leave my wedding ring as collateral. I begged and begged for a little compassion given the circumstances. My boy is dying! I thought since I’d been going there for years and we had a good relationship they would work with me. I told them how horrible he was doing and begged & begged thru tears. They wouldn’t see him, against office policy, they rescheduled him for Monday. I told the lady how bad he was doing and she said she would talk to the vet and get back to me. No one got back to me, they were again closed. My poor precious boy died Sunday night. When I told them what happened Jessica called to clarify that we were the ones to cancel the appt due to lack of financials. What the heck? Never gave me info about cremation or what to do. I called my friend and she helped me make arrangements. I never heard anything else from them. They stopped returning my messages. I feel so hurt and so robbed in this situation. If you really need them, they won’t treat you like a person, they won’t be there for you. They don’t really care about your animal. They seem nice but there is no substance to it, had me fooled for years. Today is Tuesday, still haven’t heard from them. It’s just so mean, so cold. I will regret everything about this situation and trusting this clinic for the rest of my life. No one lost more in this situation than our little family. I do not recommend this place. Years ago when I lost a pet with Lihue vet clinic they were so kind and amazing. The vet herself reached out to check on me twice. They took care of the arrangements . I regret switching vets- they were also much more reasonable. Poor koa, I’ll never know one way or the other if that visit would of helped. If she would of known how to help a bad reaction to meds . If she would of called me back. I’ll never know.
Wednesday update. They call me a cyber bully for explaining exactly what happened. After what they did to us. What we just went thru. I don’t want this happening to someone else.

North Shore Animal Clinic has been nothing but kind, compassionate, and professional with me and my dog! My pup and I recently moved back to the island and after she got a lepto shot at another vet, she had an allergic reaction that I was worried was urgent due to swelling, itching, and vomiting. I called North shore animal clinic (as they're much closer by to me) and they were able to take us immediately. They were so kind and responsive, let me know about costs up front, and the facility is clean and new. They took great care of my precious pup and called the following day to ask how she was. We'll definitely be making them our primary vet! Highly recommend!

Being new to the island left me feeling helpless when I struggled to find a veterinarian to see my newly adopted pup. She developed an infection in her eye (from what we later understood was a scratch on her cornea) and I was growing very concerned since she is a senior dog. When I called the Northshore Animal Clinic, they were able to get me in very quickly. This place made my girl feel comfortable; they were so kind and gentle with her. They kept me informed through the entire process, her condition, as well as the cost of everything before doing anything. They called and checked on her between visits, asked questions and listened to my responses showing genuine concern.
We have been back for rechecks and a dental visit. Each time, my pup has been eager to go in and greet each person who interacts with her. She has never exhibited reluctance or fear of any kind. This place is phenomenal, from the appearance and cleanliness of the building itself, to the services, communication and especially the people who work there. I cannot recommend this place enough.

This was my first visit there. The office is very well organized with online appointments, check-ins, and visit summaries. The staff and Dr. are very personable and explain all the steps. I was suitability impressed. My puppy was well treated and was very calm afterwards.

Kauai North shore animal clinic is beyond superb. They are the best. My standard poodle has cancer and is being so well taken care of by them. They use cutting edge treatments, recently for my dogs diarrhea. I have used pro – pectin anti-diarrhea Treatment and also FortiFlora. Within two days, my wonderful dog felt enormously better, with resolving diarrhea. These medication’s work. As does North shore animal clinic.!

Our Cocoa Puff was itching and had this rash all over her body! Today she’s happy and completely healed🙏🏼 The Vet was friendly and very knowledgeable. The clinic was clean and they even provided complimentary coffee. I highly recommend Kaua’i North Shore Animal Clinic🤗

This clinic is THE Go To place for help walking you through the process of getting your dog into Hawaii. From the online checklist and forms to the immediate responses from them via text or email, they made the very complicated process as fluid and stress-free as possible. Do not attempt this process without their help. I cannot say enough nice things about them. Aloha!!
