I can't say enough great things about Madi's Mutts! It's an amazing dog daycare and boarding place; every time we get in the car to head to “daycare”, both my dogs happy whine the whole way there and basically sprint inside to play with their daycare buddies. The facility is always clean and well-maintained, which really puts my mind at ease and is so important to me. The owners and their staff are great to work with. They take such wonderful care of my two boys, and I always receive regular updates about how they’re doing (and they always reply pretty fast to my messages if I have any which I greatly appreciate!!) It's clear that they genuinely love animals and go above and beyond to ensure that my boys are happy and comfortable, especially when I have such needy boys who are a handful sometimes. I’m so grateful to have found such a reliable and caring place for my pups. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-notch care for their dogs!

Now that he's healed and officially has his stitches out, I'm ready to share in hopes to deter others from boarding their pets at Madi's Mutts.

Over this past Veteran's Day Weekend (11/8-11/11), we boarded our dog Buddy at Madi's Mutts in St. Marys, GA as we had the last few times we went out of town. The facility was clean, gave a nightly report with pictures, gave a military discount, and seemed friendly. On Saturday morning at approximately 7:23 am, I received a text while we were getting ready to go to Magic Kingdom that the boarder woken up to Buddy this morning with his "neck swollen and oozing a bit". They claimed it hadn't been there last night, that they were unsure of how it happened, and that he seemed totally fine. I immediately called to assess the situation and implied that it looked like a puncture wound (because it does) to which I was told they had eyes on him at all times. They "offered" to take him to Robinson's emergency vet clinic which was really, "I mean, he's acting totally fine but qe can take him to Robinsons if you want", putting the decision on me, the owner, remotely, who is not able to view or properly assess their pet. I trusted their judgement and said no, if he is acting okay, then just please keep me updated.

We went about our day, albeit worried and concerned. At around 5pm, I realized I hadn't received a report card on him yet, so I called while Josh and Ryder were on a ride. I spoke with a different employee, who had actually been the one there the night before when the "attack" happened. He said he reviewed the footage and that Buddy was laying on a pillow and "was caught in the crossfire of two larger dogs that snapped at each other". They have since changed their stance on what happened and said that they "thought" he was caught in the crossfire of a fight but really nothing happened.

Everyday we were told he was getting better, the large lump was going down and the ooozing was decreasing. When I went to pick him up first thing Monday morning, this could not have been further from the truth. This was the worth I have ever seen my poor dog. He looked miserable. He had a baseball sized growth hanging from his neck, he couldn't even whimper, and he wasn't even excited to see me. And if you know Buddy, he is always excited to see a friend. I immediately called our vet and told them what happened, to which they promptly worked him in. They shaved his chest and found bruising all over the front, green pus leaking from the puncture wound at his neck, and the xray showed the lump to be even larger, requiring an ultrasound.

Josh took Buddy to the emergency vet at Blue Pearl (who are fantastic btw.) The vet there was absolutely horrified at his conditioned. He had developed a hematoma in that lump that was also filling with pus. She performed emergency surgery to insert a tube to drain it. He had a drainage tube in his neck for two weeks and was on pain killers and blood builders for 2 weeks because he was so weak. The poor guy could even bark or whimper because "whatever" clamped down on his throat at the facility temporarily paralyzed his vocal cords.

He just now got his stitches out today and has finally got his vigor and spunk back. He has had a fear of large dogs since he was a puppy and we lived in NY and he was attacked in a Petsmart parking lot. I fear this will cause issues all over again in his old age.

My bigger issue is 1. Madi's Mutts has not taken ANY responsibility for this. 2. We paid $1500 for an emergency vet bill to save his life (and I would do it all over again) 3. Madi's Mutts has continuously changed their verbiage in conversation, sometimes saying that Buddy wanted to go "in the large dogs group" or when I picked him up that "there weren't anymore small dogs for him to play with" but when my husband was on the phone with them complaining about the incident they told him they don't separate by size but by "temperament, so "calm dogs with calm dogs" and "hyper dogs with hyper dogs" (that sounds like a bad plan to me personally).

Madi’s is the best. My dog always comes back so happy and tired. I can tell the staff really enjoyed being there and cares about my dog. I love the report cards and pictures I get as well.

We took our puppy, Scarlette, to Madi's Mutts for her first puppy groom. Each dog gets their own appointment, so we didn't have to drop her off in the morning and leave her there for the day, which I loved.
I dropped Scarlette off to a very clean building with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They messaged about an hour later that she was ready to be picked up. I came back to a beautifully groomed and very happy puppy. Scarlette did not seem stressed in the least, and really enjoyed her special puppy spa day.
It was overall a great experience, and I will be making appointments for our other dogs as well. Hannah did a great job, and I highly recommend Madi's Mutts! ❤️

We absolutely loved taking our dog to Madi’s! I was nervous because he’s an old man, but the staff was so friendly and welcoming. They took the time to make sure he was a good fit with an interview first. Then his first day of daycare went amazingly well. I got a report card with pictures of how his day went. I felt very confident that he was going to be cared for and safe while he was there. He slept all evening that day! Madi’s went above and beyond for my fur baby and I cannot wait to take him back!

Madi's Mutts was an absolute lifesaver for us! We had traveled for hours and had a trip booked and paid for to Cumberland Island, but we didn’t have a place for our Doxie, Shelby. Without Madi’s Mutts making last-minute accommodations, we would have missed out on this amazing experience and lost hundreds of dollars. Not only did they step up to help, but they also took extra care with Shelby, making sure she—and we—felt super comfortable so we could enjoy our day worry-free. Their kindness, professionalism, and love for animals truly stand out. The facility was clean, safe, and welcoming, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend Madi’s Mutts to anyone needing top-notch pet care in St. Marys! 🐾❤️

Excellent and fast communication from the start, to making sure I was going to have done what I expected, asking lots of questions, to checking my dog over.
