They were very helpful in trying to to the care credit. Patient. The doctor was really nice and seemed knowledgeable. However, I was there for almost 9 hours in the most uncomfortable chairs ever with my puppy and it was a 3-6 hour wait with no one in the waiting room. Really hope nothing to "EMERGENT" Were to come in... others might die waiting 3-6 hours to be seen. My puppy is okay though which is what is most important. Amd having to figure out payment for them to even being the treatment plan is. Bullshit especially being an emergency room. Not everyone has over 1000 $ in their pocket in the middle of the night or even know anyone to borrow them that kind of money in a quick timely manner. I can barley afford gas in my car let alone crying for my dog to be okay in an emergency room all night Long trying to figure out over 1000 dollars.

I would give this experience zero stars if I could. We came in with my dog bleeding profusely with a burst blood vessel in his back leg, and after being bandaged and given a sedative injection, we waited nearly 2 hours for the vet to come in and give us a care plan. From there, it took nearly 40 minutes for them to get paperwork to me so that we could start that care plan. They estimated that it would take about an hour and a half, and they didn’t call me to come get my dog until nearly 2 1/2 hours later. I could be very patient and understanding about this at an emergency vet, especially since they communicated to us that there was a critical case happening as we came in. What I have absolutely no sympathy for was the state of the room they had us waiting in. I’ve attached photos to this review so that you can see how disgusting the floor was. Think of how dirty a floor has to be that the grit can be picked up on a phone camera, as well as the blood that they were too lazy to mop up.The floor of the room that we were in was covered in grit that I can only assume was cat litter. They had my dog, who is 12 years old and has hip problems, waiting on this bare hardwood floor. After about an hour of our waiting experience, I asked The front desk if I could get a broom and some wet paper towels so that I could clean up the puddles of my dog’s blood and sweep the room of the cat litter. She offered to come in and mop, and came in with a dirty mop, push some of the blood around so that the big puddles didn’t look so bad, but didn’t even bother to mop up all of the blood, and did no sweeping. It took almost an hour after that for them to bring a blanket for my dog to lay on, and that was only five minutes before our roommate brought his blanket up from home. We were not kept updated on how long things would take, we were not warned about any of these delays. Again, I can be understanding about the timing, but I am absolutely furious that my dog had to wait with a gushing leg in a room that disgusting, and that my partner and I had to wait there with him. Avoid this vet if you can, take the extra few minutes to drive to the emergency vet in Layton if your pet can handle the extra 10 minutes, because this facility is disgusting, and their pricing is predatory at best. I am both pleased and shocked that my dog didn’t get an infection from sitting on that floor, but two days later, he is still acting as though his hips hurt from trying to balance on that floor for the hours we were waiting.

First off, these professionals did save our little angel Penny Pug. Long story (abridged) we ended up taking her to another facility closer to us which turned out to be less than stellar with an incorrect diagnosis. As her condition worsened we ended up taking her to MedVet in Clearfield. There, we were met by very pleasant front desk staff, the vet techs were very thorough and seemed knowledgeable. They ended up taking her back and after some time (it's an ER and yes, you may have to wait but they do their best) we met with the Vet who began the ball rolling. We saw Dr. Townsend first and ended up having to leave her in the ICU that night. We came back the following day and met with Dr. Lathroum who had done the work and came up with a valid diagnosis which met the symptoms and issues our little Penny was having. She ended up with IMHA. We left again and needed to leave her in the ICU again. They were very caring and kept us informed every day! I would get phone calls and updates from the vet techs, staff and the Physicians themselves. I never felt rushed and all of our questions were answered. You will have to spend a little money here. ER visits are much more expensive than regular visits. We followed up the third day with Dr. Curry who was equally attentive and compassionate. We were able to take Penny home. We did follow up with our regular Vet 2 days later who seemed to brush off some of our concerns. We ended back in the ER the following day and met with Dr. Loock. We waited several hours but were met with care and professionalism. He addressed our concerns, rendered the necessary treatment and we went home late that night or early the following morning. We are now just over a week out from being seen there and got a surprise phone call from Dr. Lathroum who spent at least 20 minutes on the phone with us asking how Penny was doing and giving us some updates on guidelines for medications and what to expect in the immediate and distant future. I cannot say how thankful I am to all of the staff there. We have no complaints about any of it. Key takeaway-- It can be expensive (this is neither positive or negative just facts) but the care we received there was far better than any other facility for our emergent needs. I wish we could have some long term follow up with any of the Veterinarians with whom we had to pleasure to work with. Hopefully we don't need to come back again, but if the need arises we are more than comfortable with the care, competency and follow up with the care our family member received. THANK YOU!!!!

I may have come home without my dog, but if I had to leave any vet clinic without my best friend, I am glad it was this one. I rushed my Border Collie here around 2:30am and was met by the most kind and understanding staff. I truly wish I remembered names because they all deserve a huge recognition. The staff that night (and the next day) went above and beyond. My dog received care immediately and was made comfortable until the surgeon could come in. Unfortunately, while in surgery, my pup was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. I was given options: bring her home and have another 3ish days with her until the cancer takes her naturally, get referred to oncology, or let her go peacefully while under anesthesia. I ultimately deiced it was her time to go and I didn't want to see her suffer, even for one minute. It's better to let them go a week too early than a day too late, in my opinion. I live an hour away so I asked them to keep her under anesthesia until I was able to make it down to say goodbye. They were more than willing. She was kept pain-free and comfortable the entire time. Her loss was the hardest loss I have ever experienced, and I struggled to let go. They moved us to a private room where my family and I spent about 4-5 hours with her. Not once did we ever feel rushed or judged for needing extra time. I am so grateful for their understanding and the ability to spend as much time as we needed. They allowed me to bring my other dog in as well so that he could see and smell her (dogs accept death very well if they are able to recognize they are gone). Those were the worst 4 hours of my life but it so easily could have been worse. Her loss was extremely sudden, so having those extra 4 hours really helped me accept and cope with the situation. The worst day of my life was spent at this clinic but I am so grateful it was here and in the presence of this staff.

I wont lie, the bill was hefty, but the clinic and vets are top-tier. I feel like the price was fair, all things considered.

We brought in our new kitty at 5am because he had blood in his stool twice. All of the staff were very sweet and took time to get to know Charles. The vet explained what was going on. Explained what we needed to do at home with a bland diet and his meds. Also explained what we needed to do if Charles did not improve. This has been the third time we have used MedVet. I’m so grateful being able to have access to an animal ER after hours.

I was there for 5 hours. I realize it was July 4 so they were busy. They did what was necessary. They kept my cat for 2 days and did the things that were necessary to keep my cat as stress free as they could. Dr explained everything that was going on and sent a follow up message to see how the cat was doing at home. Spent over $3,000 but they couldn’t determine what was wrong. They called in someone to do an ultrasound on a holiday weekend. So I guess I go from there in hopes my cat can improve at home

Our dog unfortunately had an accident and we came to this location. We were treated very nicely with empathy and respect by all staff members, was explained what was going on and provided the estimate before the surgery. The staff was very attentive and made us feel better about the whole situation. They called when they were starting the procedure and after, going over all the details and next steps. The experience as a whole was good and appreciate the team to help our pup!
