We are new to the area, moved here from PA in December. Upon moving our German shepherd started having some severe medical issues with her tail, needing it to be amputated. Then had post op issues needing another surgery. So We have been to the vet 3x WEEKLY within the past month. So this recommendation is coming from someone who has literally been to the vet 15+ times? in the last 5 weeks. Dr Hoernig is above and beyond. I trust him whole heartedly and NEVER makes me feel rushed which I have felt many times at other vets. I love everyone in this office (as they now know us by name/face lol) Katie is amazing at the front desk, I hope that’s her name. I will be very sad when we move again (military). But I cannot recommend this place enough. You’d think we’d be broke after all of this, but somehow we aren’t, they are so affordable and make it possible for me to get my dog all the help and treatment she needs. Love love love this place. They’ve become like family to me and my girl.

Dr. Hoernig is amazing . Their services are also affordable, which is a huge plus. My only concern is the customer service also , Stacy at the front desk On three occasions, I’ve encountered her she came across as unfriendly and acts like she don’t even want to be there Also While I understand everyone can have a bad day, her demeanor was consistently crap. which can take away from the visit. That being said, the doctors and the rest of the staff are great. But Stacy needs to go.

I’ve been using Mexico Road Animal Hospital for years and have always appreciated the excellent service they provide. The facility is very clean, well-organized, and Dr. Hoernig is both amazing and personable. Their services are also extremely affordable, which is a huge plus. My only concern is the customer service I’ve experienced at the front desk. On two occasions, I’ve encountered Stacey, and both times she came across as unfriendly. While I understand everyone can have an off day, her demeanor was consistently unwelcoming, which can take away from the excitement of visiting. That being said, the doctors and the rest of the staff are fantastic, and I wouldn’t let this discourage anyone from experiencing the great care this hospital provides.

They saved my dog's life after he ate a sharp metal and needed emergency surgery. Thanks to the vets who helped my dog. Thank you for being such wonderful people who REALLY CARE about dogs and their human parents. This place is amazing and I absolutely recommend it! Thank you!!

Mexico road animal hospital Best there is. Reasonable prices. Have been going there for 33 years. Since1990 Would go nowhere else. Doctors are the best there is especially Doctor Hoenig. May not have correct spelling.He is the Best.He has done wonders for me.

I am a 19 year old pet owner, and this has been my first primary vet that I have ever used on my own for the last couple years. The staff is always really nice, and the doctors are always very thorough and have always fixed my fur-babies problems every time. I have never been turned away from an emergency and they always seem to fit me in one way or another. I’m sure you have heard that their prices are very reasonable, but I cannot even begin to explain how reasonable they really are. My kitty got into an accident this past week, and wound up with a broken leg. After a night at the emergency vet, I sent over the x-rays and called Mexico Road Animal Hospital first thing when they opened. They informed me it wasn’t a surgery they were going to be able to perform, but offered to do an amputation. Although yes I wish I could have afforded to get his leg fixed elsewhere, it just wasn’t in the cards for us at the moment, and had to go the route of amputation. The amputation in total cost me $600, instead of the thousands it would have anywhere else. I can’t thank this business enough, and they have truly saved my cat. They did a wonderful job too. I am sad to think that one day if I move away from St. Peter’s this wouldn’t be my primary vet anymore. Thank you guys.

They are great vet with affordable care and work hard to help everyone they can! BEST VETS IN AREA! hands down. Our poor girl has a bad bone cancer and they are doing everything they can to make her comfortable until it's time to cross the rainbow bridge🌈 I'm sorry Storm, we love ya😢
