Now Boarding was recommended to me by a neighbor and I’m so grateful to have found them!

I have boarded my longhaired dachshund a few times, used their doggy daycare on occasion, and I take my dog most Sundays to Mini Romp; a playgroup for dogs under 20 pounds. My reactive, nervous, dog LOVES the staff and loves going there. I book online, which is quick and easy. The Mini Romp is well supervised. There’s no fighting, humping, or other bad behaviors tolerated. Staff is constantly picking up and sanitizing, as the dogs do their business. There are plenty of slides, tunnels, and things to climb/interact with, both inside and outside. The staff are true dog lovers, who give the dogs lots of love and attention. It’s a super friendly, professional, reliable, well-maintained outfit where you can feel comfortable leaving your beloved pet.

For boarding: Their website is great for uploading docs and leaving specific instructions. They confirm all specifics when you check in, and go over all special instructions, including food and medicine. I bring my dog’s little tent, toys, and blankets for comfort. When I pick him up, I receive all items, which have been clearly labeled with his name. Nothing ever gets lost. Boarding your dog comes with a report card and photos. Their attention to detail is fabulous. They gave me a tour of the boarding facilities, and it’s great to know what their set up and procedures are.

Most importantly - the phone is answered, calls and email are returned, and their communication is excellent! I can’t say enough about them. They’ve been my lifesaver and my dog’s happy place.

My family went on vacation together so my mother had to board her cats for the first time in 5 years. We were very nervous because the last time they had been boarded one of the boys had been neglected to the point where they hadn’t noticed he was over grooming a spot the size of a quarter dollar at the base of his tail. It took 3 years and a Prozac Rx for him to treat the anxiety that first appeared there.

HOWEVER, our experience here at Now Boarding was wonderful. I had looked at multiple companies and this was the only one that had a dedicated cat area that didn’t look like a glorified janitor's closet. Plus, they allowed me to stop by before we booked to make sure the area was clean and consistent with what was seen online without making an appointment. Not only was it consistent with the pictures, in my opinion it looked even better in person. You could tell the animals were well taken care of and that the litter boxes were cleaned regularly.

We dropped them off the afternoon before our flight and picked them up at 7:30 at night when we got back. We called almost everyday and got good updates on how they were doing, making sure that Sven wasn’t over-grooming, and making it flexible for the boys to get extra play time when it was determined it would be beneficial and they wouldn’t just hide. They didn’t try to upsell us additions they didn’t need or wouldn’t use and when Sven decided to go on a hunger strike they gave us updates on how they were addressing it.

When we did pick them up the boys were happy to see us, and extra affection when they got home, but Sven had no bald spot and they have gotten back to normal quicker than I would have ever imagined.

Yes, more expensive than other places, but you get what you pay for and those boys are worth it. When we travel again we will absolutely be bringing them back here, no questions asked.

Please Be Aware

To be fair, my dog loves playing in the outdoor yard with the other dogs. It’s amazing and spacious with a large, protective awning, dog pools and playground equipment for them. It’s amazing. The facility itself and accommodations for boarding also seem exceptional. The staff rating is kind of divided. But what sets them apart most, and not in a good way is their transparency about what’s included with boarding and their terrible marketing with services.

If you do daycare it’s one price for a full day. If you board, there’s no way to bundle a full day of daycare and if you want that, they’ll charge the full price for both, setting you back $90+ per day for one dog. No one charges that. The bad new is if you don’t opt to pay more for your dog to play, they get one “complimentary” play time for 45-90mins depending on who you ask. Meaning they more less spend the remaining 22-23hrs locked up. It’s unacceptable.

I was very nervous to leave my dog here for the first time. She’s VERY attached to me and doesn’t enjoy unfamiliar places (especially without myself present). But with my wife starting a new career, I couldn’t stand leaving Fern at home all day alone.

The application process was fast, the rates are good, and the staff is very friendly. I brought Fern here for a half day just to see how she’d do. She was nervous at first but the staff were patient and understanding of her hesitance.

When I finally arrived for pickup I saw a very heartwarming scene, a staff member, petting and comforting fern, showing the amount of care and love they have for their job. I got to rest after a long day of work instead of taking her for a 2 hour walk (the usual routine)

I will definitely be bringing Fern here from now on!

This place was a life saver for us! We had plans to fly out on a Sunday for a family trip & our friend, who was planning to watch our dog, had to go to the ER on our drop off day. So we activated a Plan B - just in case - and Now Boarding was clutch! Not only did they make room for her but they were so understating and accommodating about the entire request. The profile I filled out wasn’t onerous and the actual drop off for my pup was slick. I was able to bring her at the ungodly hour of 4am as I had to get to the airport by 5am (they are open 24 hours!)
I am SO thankful to Now Boarding and I appreciate the report card they put together for my pup so I knew how she fared staying with them. I would also like to thank Adogo and Lucky Pet Inn who recommended them
to me. Also thank you to Dog Days Vandalia for the call back. It was a stressful time right before we were flying out and it all worked out thanks to Now Boarding!

Best dog daycare and boarding I’ve ever taken my dog to. I truly would not be able to live my life as stress free as I do because I have now boarding and the people that work there in me and my dogs life. Everyone there is kind, welcoming, organized and just really good animal people. Me and Oz love and appreciate you all so much thank you for what you do!

Been using Now Boarding for years. I had to cancel due to a trip getting cancelled. I was one day short from the “two weeks policy”and called to see if I could be refunded. I’m getting charged and no refund. I won’t be returning if this is what the policy is. I gave ample notice and whoever I spoke to was of zero help to make this whole considering how many times I’ve brought my cat here.

I have been boarding at NB for over 10 years. I cannot say enough great things about the staff and facility. They even have a little critter room. They are open 24/7 and the shuttle is icing on the cake. Bridget, Pippin & Caleb
