7 years ago, we saw an ad for a Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy for sale. We had recently moved to the area and finally had time to train a retriever of our own. So we called up Bill and went down to meet him. Bill was exceptionally kind, professional and enthusiastic! He showed us multiple excellently trained chessies including the Sir and Dam of the pup. That day we brought home Hank. Bill had excellent follow up, called to check on Hank and help with any questions! He invited us back to train and learn from him! Given how amazing Hank is, we just knew we wanted another so when Indy had another litter, we got Jack!
Bill not only breeds amazing Chesapeakes, he is an amazing trainer. Not only did he help train ours but helped me have the confidence to run my own dogs in tests by training me too! Bill brought my two best friends into this world and became family in the process. You absolutely cannot go wrong by working with Ogeechee River Retrivers!

He has taking both of my dogs thru is training program and they a performing at the top of their levels. He took this 9 month old puppy and got him his HRC started title. I started raising Brittanys and founded Briarbuster Brittanys and Bill started working with Chesapeake Bay Retrievers about the same time. My eight year old daughter and I drove 16 hours to buy a pup from the Briggs X Rose litter. At 12 months old the pup needed a $2,500.00 operation to correct a genetic health defect. The contract for sale of the pup was like no contract at all.

The breeder didn’t offer anything to help us.

When I buy my next pup I’m going to someone else.
