This was the perfect place for us to say as it is within an hour of Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park, about 15 minutes to the Penobscot Narrows Bridge & Observatory and Fort Knox, and about 25 minutes south of Bangor. ||The house has several quaint rooms furnished with antiques. Very relaxing. Breakfast was good … delicious chocolate chip cherry muffins one of the mornings. Yum! And, though a prior review said there was no kettle for hot water … well there is hot water now in a dispenser. You can have a hot cup of tea anytime.

I had a terrible experience staying one night in this old run down house. When we got to the room we booked, there was a lot of dust on the room and the furniture in the room. We tried to understand that it was a historically old building, but we saw cockroaches running around in the room. We caught one, but when the second one showed up, we had no choice but to ask the landlord to change rooms. When we moved to the new room, we found another cockroach that was already dead. We texted the landlord about this, but there was no response. In the end, we had no choice but to sleep a little and leave the hotel early in the morning. If you don't like cockroaches and dusty rooms, I would not recommend this place.

I found this lovely B&B on line and decided to try it reading all the good reviews. I traveled by myself from Mass to see my son play hockey at UMaine. The Winterport B&B is approximately 25 minutes to the college and was much more affordable than the hotels in Bangor. Ann, the owner of the Inn made me feel very comfortable and suggested some great places to visit during my stay. My room was very clean and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. I will definitely stay there again!!

This is a very reasonably priced guest house in a slightly quirky but attractive building. Winterport itself is a large village with few facilities, but is within half an hour's drive of Bangor and within an hour or so of Acadia National Park and the attractive towns of Penobscot Bay.|We had the traditional key-in-the-mailbox welcome, but the owner, when we met her, was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit.|We had a nice traditionally styled room (Geneva room) with plenty of light and space to move around. Cold buffet breakfast was good.|My only criticism is the lack of either a kettle or water heater for making tea, which meant I had to heat my water in the microwave. A small thing which could be easily sorted out.|

Not sure how we stumbled upon this one - but so glad we did. The location was fantastic - between Bangor and the Coast. We arrived and it's easy to park and to access the building. The room (Blueberry) was immaculate, using really nice antique furniture. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom really nice.||||We enjoyed our dinner in Bangor, which came at the recommendation of Ann, the owner. it was called Kimberly's.||||Ann baked some muffins and had some really fresh apples - I forgot what kind - but they were farmer's market fresh - so that was a nice touch.||||If you need a place to stay for a day or two, this is a wonderful property - a central location and spotless.||||And after you leave, treat yourself to a visit to the Sweet Cheeks bakery on Verona Island - it's close by - and another reason to stay here - it's a wonderful bakery.||||Glad we stayed at Old Winterport and if we ever go back to Maine, we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

A genuinely delightful bed & bath experience. VERY clean and no detail was overlooked. We enjoyed the abundance of antiques everywhere and the antique store to visit on the ground level of the building. The innkeepers were very friendly and made several excellent suggestions that proved to be perfect! Breakfast was delicious and we remarked to ourselves several times about the cleanliness and the thoughtful details throughout. Highly recommend.

This was my second stay. The first time I was alone. For the second visit, my family rented all five rooms for us five retired siblings. What a great place for a family get-together! We had no kids or grandkids with us. The place is quiet and homey. Winterport is a very quiet area, which is exactly what we wanted. We took day trips to Acadia and Rockland. Look at the photos and read the website--the descriptions are accurate in every detail. When you know what to expect, you won't be disappointed. Your expectations will be exceeded by the hosts!|Yes, there are stairs. And there is no TV and no refrigerator in every room. The wifi worked perfectly for us all. It is an old-fashioned B&B with wonderful old-fashioned furnishings.|Ann is very friendly and accommodating. She was always available, but left us alone unless we had a question.|Traveling can be expensive, but this place is an incredible value!

Friends recommended this lovely place and we are so happy we stayed here for 2 days. A quiet sleepy town away from the crowds in Bar Harbor but a perfectly beautiful drive to visit there. Our room, the Blueberry Room was so comfortable, clean and cozy. Our hostess Anne was so helpful with ideas of places to see. A wonderful breakfast and coffee too. The inn was a great place with all the amenities needed to sit back and enjoy a peaceful evening after a long day of sightseeing.

My husband and I only stayed one night (reserved for 4). We couldn’t stand to stay another night, left without a refund and had to pay for another hotel. The rooms had all antiques but not the beautiful kind everything in there was old and rickety. The bed was in such bad shape we were afraid it would collapse, the shower was basically a water hose (no shower head) and everything was musty. The breakfast was a joke. Nothing hot, no protein, no pastries. There was a disgusting blackberry dish that was so old we were afraid to eat it, worried we’d get sick. Stay at your own risk and IGNORE all other reviews (over a year old and we suspect friends and family wrote them).
