Find a better place to go. The staff simply do not care about the people that go there. Maybe it’s because of the neighborhood. The person at the call center is the worst, you can never get any help. He’s giving wrong or no help plenty of times.i needed a blood test and he schedule me a telephone visit. Rushed you off the phone and doesn’t check any information. The front counter staff at the facility are no better. Asked for the number to the supervisor and they give me a number that just hangs up every time. No urgency into seeing patients outta ER from medical emergency. Beware of this place and find another clinic.

Not great. One star off for each of the following:
- Name was misspelled when they sent my script to the pharmacy. Insurance wouldn't cover my (essential) meds because the names didn't match. Had to battle over the phone for weeks to get it updated.
- Doctor gave a hasty prescription that WORSENED my condition. This can happen even with careful doctors, but this doctor was not careful. They googled the dosage and duration right in front of me and spent no more than 30 seconds finding an answer.
- They booked my appointment for the wrong day. I was told over the phone that my appointment was 'tomorrow', but they had scheduled it 48 hours out.

I want this place to be good. The people here seem nice, and they're clearly trying to support trans, queer and BIPOC folks in disadvantaged communities. Much like the folks in those communities, they're struggling 😮‍💨

TL;DR: try other clinics first, you deserve better care

Omg ! I absolutely luv this clinic ! Dr Emie is the best , very kind and nurturing and truly compassionate, the entire staff is amazing, from the front desk , the nurses and the call center , a special shout out to Cesar and Renea for their efficiency in getting the necessary messages sent to my doctor ! Oh yeah and they always welcome my dog Holly Wood with open arms , I can't say enough great things about this clinic 💜💜💜

Tried to switch care to this place since it’s close and I love the heart behind new avenues for youth. Had a miserable meeting with the nurse practitioner who clearly did not want to be there with me and who basically re-iterated fatphobic diet culture stuff and nothing else. I was truly shocked and honestly stunned. People deserve better care than this!

Outside In was my go-to clinic about ten years ago. Something has drastically changed since then.
I signed up for therapy services at the Burnside location. I met with the therapist virtually the first time. I told them I wanted an in-person visit the following week. They said they made that appointment. When I showed up, there was no appointment made for me, but they let me go in for it anyway. The therapist had just finished their lunch. Then the therapist is like, "So what do you want to talk about then?" First of all, I'm a new client. Maybe you should facilitate the therapy services rather than expect your client to come in with all the answers. I left that appointment explaining that I need weekly virtual visits. Guess who has yet to have another therapy session? Like, how hard is it to create a weekly appointment with your client, and follow through with actually meeting that client? It's been a month since we met. Don't you think you'd at least check in with me? I feel like my time has been wasted and I will not be visiting Inside Out for therapy. I'm currently looking for a different transgender provider altogether because the communication is very lacking at this location. It's a shame because I really wanted to support this organization.

i'd been going to outside in for almost 10 years for healthcare. they've always had spotty staffing, but these past few years since Covid hit, I have had 4 different doctors with no warning, which makes it incredibly difficult to treat chronic conditions because each new one wants to test you over and over just to make sure you still have the disease noted on your chart for the past several years. the final straw for me (which prompted this review) was when I finally decided to leave and find other, more stable primary care, someone from the OutsideIn staff called and cancelled a dermatology appointment I have been waiting on since 2 doctors ago (approximately 6 months). Not only that but the doctors I have had have not been kind or even stoic- most of the ones I have had become visibly uncomfortable or irate when I speak up for myself and the treatments/medications I am comfortable with or have already tried and didn't like.

it took multiple YEARS for the "referral team" to glance at the referral for a procedure that will change my life, meanwhile I have been getting sicker and sicker the whole time.

And on top of all this, it was INCREDIBLY hard to call the clinic for anything. Either I would get halfway thru the call menu before the other line would hang up, or it would ring and ring until finally it just stopped. I've made absolutely sure the problem isn't with my phone/carrier, especially after trying for three whole hours to get on the phone with someone, only for the phone system to sh*t its pants the whole time. The best system I found was to give them a special ringtone, and whenever I got a call is when I'd ask the receptionists questions. (Sidenote- the receptionists for the Eastside location were pretty good, no complaints about them).

I will say, if you're poor and need quick primary care attention, then these people might be your best bet. But if you have a condition that doctors need to actually pay attention to, it would be best to put in the effort to go to almost any other clinic in the city. Sure there might be worse ones out there but worse than OutsideIn might be hard to find. I've learned consistency with a less than stellar doctor is leagues better than inconsistent doctors, even if their credentials are good.

An example of American healthcare. I came in due to a car accident and the doctor kept changing the subject to HRT rather than addressing any of the symptoms or remedying my pain and health issue that occurred at the time of the high speed collision. Very unprofessional. Strongly considering sticking to my doctor located 2 hours away or just killing myself to alleviate the symptoms outside-in casually ignores.

Edit: I followed up, and they suggested making more appointments. More visits from healthcare that ranks below 1st world standards. No thanks.

Re: I will not be sharing my email with you outside-in because I already sent a MyChart message.
