I never leave reviews, but absolutely the worst surgery experience we have ever had.

My daughter had surgery in September of 2023 after this her right foot was not healing she had to be in casts from( September 2023- January 2024 )I repeatedly took her to the dr because her right foot was not healing. Her dr kept blowing it off saying it was just slow healing even though it was very swollen, and (the bone was not healing bone not healing is major sign of infection) finally in July 2024 my daughter got very sick come to find out she had mssa infection in her right foot from the plates they put in her ankle. She had to have surgery to get hardware removed spent 5 days in the hospital. & she had to be on heavy duty antibiotics for 3 months and monitored by infectious disease. Shriners did not want to take out the plates from her left foot because she was not having symptoms. We switched drs after this, left leg was still a little inflamed but the explanation for that was that it was rejecting the hardware so we scheduled surgery to remove hardware 2 months from now after repeatedly calling the office for two weeks before I got a call back.

Now my daughter’s foot is swollen three times the size and leaking fluid because of Shriners negligence. I called several times today to try to get them to see her. They would not see her. They said she
needed to go to er and kept putting it off on other providers. (Last time this happened. They also told us to go to the ER. The ER did nothing but draw labs and tell us we need to go to Shriners.)

I her got an appointment today with her primary care, urgent care Shriners wouldn’t even send them the labs that they wanted done, so the urgent care doctor ordered them based off of previous labs, but other providers were shocked by Shriners’s Negligence.

It’s really horrible and this is the short version of the story. There’s a lot more that has happened. Do not go to this hospital. if they’re performing major surgeries on patients, they should have on-call doctors that are willing to operate if needed or admit patients on the weekend. They are completely worthless on the weekend.

The new doctor that we met with was very nice unfortunately he was out this weekend so he does not know what is going on. 10 years ago when my daughter first started going to the hospital, they were great. They have gone way downhill in the past 5 years.

I would give this place a 5/5 🙂 I recently transferred from California to Portland and I just gotta say my daughter gets the best treatment for her bilateral club feet. Staff was excellent and very nice and very patient with my daughter. The doctors here take the time to explain any concerns or questions you light have regarding your child's health. Thank you Shriners for the continued care my daughter is having through you. I'm also thankful for my mother in law for recommending Shriners given the fact that my husband was a Shriners kid 😄.

I remember when I was younger my family and I rode across the country to get to Washington state. I remember being a paitint of Shriner hospital there staff member were very friendly and very polite. They helped me become the person I am today. I have so many surgeries done but they helped me and if It wasn’t for the help love from the staff I wouldn’t know where I would be today. I would love to say thank you to everyone who helped me through my rough times.

5/5 stars doesnt even justify how great this hospital is. I've been staying in here since Feburary 19 for a Spinal Fusion, and the service and treatment has been amazing, I heavily vouch this hospital for any parents!

We live 2 hours away, took my son for a foot apt and they gave us a hip and knee doctor and we had to reschedule. I’ve had nothing but terrible experiences with this establishment.

All the staff were very kind from the security officers to the cafe and front desk staff and the pediatric surgeon and nurses were fantastic. The orthopedic brace fitting specialist made my kiddo feel so comfortable and confident. I'm thankful we got referred here for his care.

I was diagnosed with Ewings sarcoma (bone cancer) at age 6. I survived the cancer but my life was looking far from good. I couldn't bend my leg, could barely walk or put weight on it. I had 3 brothers growing up and I remember always watching them play just wishing with all my heart I would one day be able to join them and have fun. Shriners hospital gave me that opportunity. They gave me a life I would have never been able to have if it wasn't for the great things they do. The people there ACTUALLY care about you. They do everything in their power to help. Please donate to this hospital. They are truly good people and I owe them everything,and they never ask for anything. I am currently 27 years old and have been cancer free for almost 20 years. I live a good life now and work for a great company. All because of shriners hospital. Let's show them some love in return. Thank you guys and girls for everything you have done for people. You are truly a godsend.
