We started with puppy day training at Sniffers and then moved into enrichment day care. Everyone who works there is so friendly and caring, and my dog gets excited every time we walk in. They greet him by name and then whisk him away for a day of fun so that I can go to work to support his lifestyle. (Want proof… see photos for before daycare and after!

Disappointing experience. Wanted to use Sniffers because of its proximity to my friend’s house. We frequently travel together so I thought it would be nice to have a place near her I could board. Because of my job, I frequently travel so my dogs are used to boarding and stay multiple different facilities across the DMV without issue. I brought my dogs in for the evaluation. When I came to pick them up, I was told my younger social dog who loves day care appeared anxious and preferred individual play which was surprising. They said they couldn’t determine if he was a good fit for group play and would need a repeat evaluation. I was then told my senior dog who does fine in day care but honestly has some anxiety and prefers humans was a social butterfly who did great in group play and was cleared. I explained that these evaluations seemed inconsistent with their behaviors and I thought they probably swapped the dogs accidentally. The person who did the check out said she wasn’t around for the evaluation so had no idea what actually happened. Basically there was nothing that could be done to fix it at that time. I told her my dogs were set to board the next day and she said she would leave a note on the account so the one could be reevaluated. I figured it wasn’t worth arguing about because he would just get reevaluated the next day by himself to avoid confusion and get cleared. When I dropped them off for boarding the next day, I mentioned the one being reevaluated for group play and was told the person doing the intake would pass it along. I later got a call. I was told there were no notes on either of their files stating either was approved for group play. Furthermore, they simply could not do an eval on a weekend because they like to do them on weekdays with “regulars”. Had I not been told my social dog could be reevaluated the next day, I would have pursued further correcting the swap of the original evals. At this point I was out of town so didn’t have another option, but mentioned wanting to talk to a manager during pick up the following day only to be told there’s no management available on weekends. Eventually, they were able to find someone who had worked the day before to confirm one of the dogs was approved, but the end result was my less social senior dog got half a day of group play (which he could take it or leave it), while my younger energetic social dog was left in a kennel during his stay with the exception of limited “private play”. All for $225 for a single night stay for two dogs. I found the communication disappointing and not in line with what I want in a boarding facility, especially at this price point.

We are disappointed with grooming our dog at Sniffers - when we tried to schedule grooming for our dog here the 2nd time, they just mentioned that "we are unable to groom him" without citing a reason. This inconvenienced us because we would have tried looking for another place months earlier (after our 1st grooming session at Sniffers).

We came to Sniffer’s based on a friend’s recommendation. Joy did a fantastic job grooming our large golden doodle who can be reactive to people and dogs. I didn’t recognize her when she came out! Adorable! It was a relief to hear that they had absolutely no problems and that she was very well behaved which I credit to Joy being able to handle her.

We had a wonderful first experience with Sniffers from the moment Selina answered the phone and assured me she would do everything she could to help me. Jonathan was the same way when we dropped our dog off for the Welcome Day activities. He was so patient, listened to our concerns and answered all our questions. Our dog had a wonderful day at Sniffers yesterday and we are so happy to have found a safe and reliable place for him to stay when the need arises.

Took my dog for a “welcome” day to see how she did. The facility was very clean, and staff were available, friendly, and helpful. Although my pup was very anxious, I will be bringing her back for overnight lodging. I like that there is outdoor space, although I would prefer more outdoor playtime and outdoor potty breaks. My dog is going to be anxious in any boarding facility, and I really appreciate that SNIFFERS has an “all in” pricing structure. [Many dog boarders price lodging separately from activities, which to me is totally ridiculous. Why would I leave my dog in a facility for 24 hours, completely cooped up (aside from brief potty breaks), unless I pay an additional fee for playtime? If I have someone caring for my dog, I expect more than just letting my dog out for a relief break or two, and otherwise leaving her alone in a crate/small kennel for most of the day.]

Was really nervous because my dogs are large and have serious reactivity issues. The staff all seemed great with them and they passed their trial day. So excited to have a safe and loving place to care for my dogs when I need to travel without them.
