This was my first visit to South Park Animal Hospital..for my rescue kitty, too.
There's not really enough words to describe how precious it was for me to watch the sweet interaction that Lauren and Dr. Johnson had with my Sissy. He came in and even sat down on the floor with her while she walked around the exam room. She was very comfortable and did great. Not even a peep when she got her vaccinations.
Oh..and they even have a separate entrance and area for kitties which is so nice and calm.
So the short version, we highly recommend South Park for their professionalism, their sincere sweet and caring conversation and handling of Sissy, and follow-up. So happy to have found our fur-ever vet.

I’ve been taking my pup here for the last few years and overall have had good experiences. We were here recently for a procedure for my dog and Dr. Shuman was great. He worked us into his schedule despite a scheduling error, showed genuine interest and compassion toward me and my dog and gave a game plan for treatment/surgery. The outcome has been great which has made a big difference in our daily lives. I felt we were in good hands. The team at the front was nice, considerate, & hard working.

Called this vet on a Monday morning and they were able to fit my sick dog in same day when his normal vet couldn’t. They were extremely accommodating to his animal reactivity as well as understanding towards his aggression when being examined. I’ll spare google the details of how sick he got inside of their office while waiting for results, but everyone handled it like pros and got my dog taken care of. I would say prices are comparable to most vets I have been to and they were extremely transparent about pricing before running any tests, there was no shock at the end of the visit. One day later and already no more vomiting or diarrhea and we got our first full nights sleep in 5 days. Would recommend this care and professionalism to anyone!!

We’ve always had a good experience with South Park. The facility is clean and separated for cats and dogs which is nice.

We took our last dog here and now our new puppy.

In the past, there has been a little bit of a wait to be seen despite having an appointment time, but lately they’ve been very fast.

We love this vet! While they are a tad more expensive than vets in our previous area of Austin, the care is phenomenal, and I LOVE they have a seperate check in area and exam room for cats. My cat Howie loves coming here and interacting with staff. Once they took him back for his blood work with him perched on their shoulder. Everyone is very friendly and I like how they go over the fees for each individual exam fee/vaccination and do not shame or guilt you if you need to save a few things for the next visit due to price.

I adopted a senior cat recently and she has an issue with her ears that is far more severe than I realized. It’s been tough for me to afford the care she needs, but I don’t want to give up on her. Of the several clinics and specialists I’ve taken her to, the place that demonstrated the most care and understanding for both my cat’s needs and my financial situation has been South Park Animal Hospital. I always have such a good experience when I bring my cats here. Even when things are scary and stressful I feel listened to and understood and the communication is top notch. They did the surgery for my soul cat when she needed her life saving amputation back in 2019 and they've been taking care of her and her brother ever since. I had to bring her in for something concerning yesterday and they made it as painless as possible and took their time with my very stressed cat, even leaving the room to give her a moment to calm down. Seriously the best team of vets and techs I've interacted with. I can't recommend them enough.

After my long time vet retired, reviews for SP Animal Hospital and their location, which is very close to my house, brought me here. I've been very happy with this practice on every level from front desk to techs to the docs. My first vet here has left, but I've now seen two others and they are all knowledgeable, friendly, and also totally interested in my dogs. Highly recommend, with the caveat that you do get what you pay for. For me, I'm willing if I think I'm getting the best care for my beloved pooches.
