I just finished my course at The Academy of Pet Careers for Veterinary Assisting! I loved the course! It was very educational and informative and I loved how involved my Instructor Ms. Abby Hemsath was! She gave a lot of her own experiences as examples and showed us a lot of real life examples of things she had seen during her Career as a Veterinary Technician. She gave us as much hands on experience as she could and went above and beyond to prepare and provide a safe and effective environment for us to learn! I loved my experience and feel very confident moving on to my career and will be coming back in the fall for the Training course! So thank you to everyone at the Academy and definitely recommend for anyone wanting to work with furry friends!

Great instructors!!! Great program!! I learned a ton and had a great time training my dog at the same time!! They have a staff and the other programs were very helpful as well!!

I'm about halfway through the online dog trainer course and wow! I'm loving all the information there is to learn and read up on. I really appreciate the added pictures and videos within the lesson. I am more of a visual learner so they help a lot. My instructor is amazing and Addi has gotten back to me very diligently with everyone question I've sent. I can't recommend this school enough! If you are on the fence about signing up, just do it and dive in! You won't be disappointed 🖤☺️🤍

If you’re looking to work with animals, this is the place to study. Since the day I first toured The Academy of Pet Careers, I knew it was a special place. My time there as a Veterinary Assistant student helped me grow into a person I can be proud of, with the knowledge and skills to aid me in my career. My instructor, Abby Hemsath, has years of experience in the field and is incredibly down to earth - two things I appreciate in someone with whom I spent almost every weekday for 5 months. All of the instructors and administrators at APC are simply the loveliest people, and I will miss seeing them. Studying here was a big step towards my future, and I will forever be thankful for the experience.

I enrolled as a student in the Specialized Training program in Sept 2024 and finished in Feb 2025. The three instructors in the program were amazing and inspiring. They have three different teaching styles and each one touched my soul and furthered my knowledge.

First, Katlin W., Katlin is a great speaker and a true professional. She knows the subject matter and how to teach it and communicate in a way that makes it fun to learn and easy to digest. She went out of her way to help me during office hours and supported me when I was having non-performance issues with my dog. Plus she helped me take my 13 yr old dog, who was very sick, and spark her energy thru nose work- and my dog loves it. My dog acts younger just by learning nose work!

Second, Hannah D., Hannah is a good example of a student who mastered the program so much, that they hired her. Amazing! Her dog is smart and resourceful and I want to believe that is because of the time Hannah spends with her dog. In addition, she went out of her way to address my human needs- whether I was feeling down or frustrated she always had kind words to say and a pick me up. I couldn't have got through this program without her.

Third, Eric S., Eric is amazing- he is humble and non confrontational and wants only the best for the students and their dogs. He is the dog guru, and can get my dog to do things that I could not. He wants the best for every dogs- and every student and is so supportive. I find him gentle and kind, which are amazing qualities. I don't know a lot of veterans- but I enjoyed getting to know Eric. I will never forget him and will definitely stay in touch.

The instructors are great and very supportive and there are many great things from the community. I would say that the instructors did everything they could to help all throughout the program, but we still did not learn about everything. It would make since if the service dog program was a little longer, so we could learn more about medical alert dogs and how they were actually taught. The main reason I came here was to learn about seizure alert dogs and I barely know more about them than when I started. I could say the opposite for the skills/obedience and sports section. I have learned a lot from this and am very glad I came here. So, while I am disappointed on some things, I have learned a lot from most of it.

I had an amazing time at the academy Of pet careers. I love how the grooming instructors,Thor and Lynnette helped me out with how to groom dogs. They did great with doing lectures and did a great job of helping me when I had a question or a problem with something I could just ask them and they new how to fix it or how to do it in a different way that could help me. Thank you Thor and Lynnette .

I received a great education at The Academy of Pet Careers by my teacher Abby. I learned a tremendous amount of knowledge on all things veterinary assisting. Learning both through lectures and hands on has prepared me for working in a veterinary clinic.
