I absolutely love this practice! They make everything so easy. They have plenty of therapists to pick from so you are bound to find someone that you like. They will match you with a therapist and if it isn’t a good match, they will rematch you- no questions asked. The center focuses on overall wellness and also offers support groups, open mic nights, and physical wellness classes at their North Brunswick location. They are super accessible and super easy to work with. I personally have been seeing Erica Rodriguez for three years now and I am the happiest I have ever been!!

The Center for Therapy is an exceptional place to find comprehensive mental health care. Their fundamental approach is based on providing a safe space where people from all cultural backgrounds feel safe and heard. Not only will you find highly trained therapists here, but there are so many other unique programs and practice specialties that provide support in addition to individual therapy.

I have also found that doing one on one sessions as well as participating in the community events and classes with centered wellness has helped me see how different approaches have helped me work through different things and I look forward to continuing to participate.

A waste of time.
They said they'll find me a therapist in 2-4 weeks and then you hear nothing back. I also paid for the intake just for them to call me back and say “so… we don’t take your insurance”. There are plenty other reviews saying they paid for an intake and never received services as well.

I would like to preface this review by stating my experience with my therapist at The Center has been absolutely fantastic. She is the only reason I continue to attend.

I have been a client at The Center for 2.5 years. The services have been lifechanging for me.

About a year into my experience, I raised the point to The Center that I have never once been billed. I was told that my insurance covers the cost of services and that I have a $0 co-pay. I continued my services.

A few months later, just a few weeks before the holidays, I received an email from The Center asking me to pay over $800 because they had been submitting my claims to the wrong insurance, and wanted me to back pay for all prior sessions.

I called multiple times to discuss the issue and waited weeks to speak to an admin. When I was finally able to get someone on the phone I learned there is no billing department - it is just one administrative person handling all claim issues.

I gently pointed out to this person that 1. I had specifically inquired about the non-existent payments for my sessions and was told out right I did not owe money, and 2. It was a mistake by THE CENTER for not realizing they were billing the wrong insurance.

I offered to pay half of the $800 dollars, which was more than I should have offered. The admin told me she has no decision making power, but would check in with the owner.

Weeks later, the admin told me that the owner would take $200 off. I asked to set up time to speak directly with the owner myself, and again waited WEEKS for a reply. I sent multiple follow ups during that time.

Ultimately I was told the owner did not wish to make time to discuss this issue with me. This is a TERRIBLE way to do business. Ignoring your customers, refusing to discuss the problem at hand. Awful.

I said I would make the payment, but unfortuntely would not be able to promote The Center any longer. I asked them to please send me an invoice for the payment....

And then I asked again.... and again.

Multiple emails TRYING TO PAY THEM. Ignored. So i stopped reaching out.

3 months later, I am hit with the invoice in my email.

This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional.

You will receive excellent therapeutic services at The Center, but please beware that ownership may screw you over with hefty bills that appear whenever The Center gets around to billing you.

To the owner, I would still welcome the chance to discuss this with you. Feel free to give me a call any time.

I can't say enough positive things about The Center for Therapy and Counseling Services. The therapists are incredible; knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to helping you grow. I was a patient here for the past two years. I had a therapist who was wonderful. She recently left, and it was expressed to her boss that I did not want to discontinue my therapy. Just reduce my sessions. It has been six weeks now I have called and spoken to the office once when I was able to reach them and no one has reached out to me about setting me up with a new therapist. My inbox is inundated with emails from the center for therapy for all the programs that they want to advertise and loop you into but my therapy sessions that are one on one that I actually need I still have not received any calls about. One of my biggest issues is a refused to ask for help from anyone because I expected never get it. And I would just like to thank this therapy office for reinforcing everything that I believe about never expecting help when you most need it. It’s truly disheartening because my therapist I did work with was so great and now I’m here. I’m truly angry and disappointed.
