My dog Nyx just finished the Excellent Engagement course with KJ. If you want to get the most out of all of your current and future training efforts, TAKE EXCELLENT ENGAGEMENT! Nyx and I graduated the class much more connected. Her focus in situations across the board is much improved. I now have the tools to help her navigate new environments and gain confidence. This class is a game changer for strengthening your bond with your pup and providing a strong foundation for future learning. Our communication has never been better. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Just do it.

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Karen; she was outstanding. We found Karen after one of our dogs began attacking the other, and while no blood was drawn, we were at a loss of what her trigger was and were on the brink of having to give her away. Karen came in and, through her certified decade of experience, nonjudgmental listening, and hands on teaching, was able to teach us how to lessen and manage her behavior. Karen also stood out from other dog trainers by her true desire to see our dogs live a better life. Based on her actions, you could tell she was not interested in making mountains of money as she would tell us things that we may not have wanted to hear but needed to hear to be successful. Another exceptional aspect of Karen is the level of supplemental material she provides. She answered all the questions we had (in sessions and between) plus provided written reference material.

I also felt that Dog Spot's pricing structure was the best in the KCMO area. You can purchase individual classes or bundles of classes (we did five at a time) and it was a flat in home rate no matter where you lived in the area. The flexibility was also top notch as Karen was always able to work with us to find a date that worked for our schedule. Thank you, Karen! You gave me my dog back ❤️

We've only had one official lesson so far and I already love the place.
Edit: we've now graduated from puppy kindergarten and surviving adolescence classes. We love the dog spot and the trainers here. We've learned so much, our puppy loves classes and we're really considering doing more advanced activities with her in the future. We've learned so much about dog behavior and have made such a great bond with our puppy.

She provided so much useful information, and clear instruction in a single hour; it feels like we’re in such good hands. Rogue and I have taken a few agility classes at The Dogs' spot and have always had a blast! LeAnn and Grace are awesome instructors, friendly and personable while providing clear helpful feedback to help us improve. Karen has been guiding us through in-home training. We’ve only had 3, 1 hour sessions and I have already noticed a drastic difference in our 2 minpins behavior! It was intimidating trying to modify reactive behaviors in adult rescue pups (both 6yrs old), but Karen assured me it’s both possible & rewarding! She is a patient, kind, passionate, & professional trainer. She not only explains how to train behaviors but also WHY we use specific methods & cues. She gave us tips about food, treats, medication, recommended helpful books & videos. I really can’t say enough positive things about our experience w/ Karen from The Dogs’ Spot.
I should mention that prior to choosing DS, I read about & called several training centers in KC. Dogs’ Spot seems to offer the most flexible options & had some of the most experienced (& multi-certified) trainers. I wanted a hands-on experience rather than an expensive board & train, which just didn’t seem like a good fit for my budget or my anxious dogs.
