i am so beyond disappointed in the lack of empathy we have received from thomasville humane. to start off, we adopted jasper (formally smoke) months ago. i’ve seen multiple posts made about how you do everything you can to help adopted dogs and adopters transition, but while we are struggling to help our dog jade, jasper and us adjust i reach out for guidance and i receive no response. thankfully his trainer has helped guide us in areas we need it. we were also not given any previous information on him, for instance i was unaware he had previously broken his last adopters wrist until you found out he broke my finger. again, thankfully we had his trainer to guide us through handling him. however we love jasper, so we have tried to let this go and move forward without your guidance. until today. i found an injured stray cat bleeding profusely in my neighborhood. the vet won’t help because he is not our cat, animal control is also no help so two and a half hours before thomasville humane closes i call you as my last resort desperate for ANY kind of help. i was told the manager was in a meeting and would call me back in five minutes to let me know how they could help, because she was the one who could make the decision to help or not. hours go by and i receive no phone call, it seems you’re good at not responding to people in need of help. minutes before you close i call back and of course, no answer. i call nine times before who i assume is the manager answers. i say how i was told i would get all call back TWO hours before about the cat and she says “what cat?” rudely. i explain the situation AGAIN and am told “the only thing i can tell you to do is call 911.” i offer to pay anything that is needed to get him help and am told the same thing. so, my question is how can you post injured stray animals that you take in on facebook asking for money but then turn him away? you have resources, i was willing to pay the funds for any kind of help, yet he was still turned away and i receive nothing but annoyance. not even a point in the right direction. after making donations, staying active on all social media platforms to bring awareness to you, and adopting the dog there that no one else wanted, i expected a lot more from you. what kind of qualifications does an animal have to reach in order to deserve help from you? while this cat is laying on my bathroom floor alone, scared, and slowly bleeding out i hope that you are deeply ashamed. i hope that everytime you bring in an injured or stray animal that you help you see beautiful his face in your mind, because in the end no one in thomasville was willing to help him even when money wasn’t an issue. be ashamed that you had the resources to make a difference for him and you turned him away like he was nothing. sorry not sorry for the long post, do better and have the day you deserve.

his name is now oliver, and we are doing the best we can with what little resources we have to help him feel loved.

We found a lovely little Chihuahua in February 2024. She's a real love and likes to sleep on the covers with me at night. She gets along with the cats and other dogs. The process was easier than at other shelters. (The only problem is getting online to look at the current dogs available for adoption. Confusing.)

We adopted my baby Moose from Thomasville Humane in 2019 in less than ideal conditions. However, since the new ownership and administration, Thomasville Humane has been turned around in the best way possible. I now volunteer there frequently and it’s so evident how much the staff cares about the animals there. Always clean crates, amazing medical knowledge/practice, communitu events, LOTS of play time, outdoor time, socialization with other dogs, stimulation, and the social media/marketing team is so amazing at getting the animals seen. The team just works so fantastic together and spending time with the animals is the highlight of my weeks. I feared cutting ties with the County would be detrimental to Thomasville Humane, but they continue to persevere and rise to the top with the best interest of their animals at the forefront of their mission, always. My Moose was the best thing to ever happen to me!! But I’m just so astounded by the work that TH does, the countless hours they spent for their puppies and kitties.
If you adopt a dog or cat from them just know they came from the BEST possible care! I hate that some previous reviewers have had negative experiences, but I see it firsthand almost every day. And if you have to make the difficult decision to surrender your dog, just know that they will be in the best hands possible. TH, your hard work and care does not go unnoticed! Thank you for always going out of your way for the animals of Thomasville (and beyond!)!

Adopted two dogs from them, both had behavioral issues that we were not aware of. When we contacted them to take the larger dog back because of literally destroying the back of our home, they wanted to charge us even more to take him back then it cost us to adopt him. We have given them lots of money for these adoptions and if we had been aware of the behavioral problems right up front we would not have wasted our time. Will never adopt from here again. Poor customer service and they do not genuinely seem to care about making a good match for the pet and the owner.

Adopted my dog from them a year ago and more recent dropped day kittens that were found. They were great both times and very helpful when most others couldn't help
