I have been going here for years and I’m honestly a little pissed off at the entitlement in these reviews and people actually angry when the provider goes above and beyond to make sure they had another appointment set up just in case and they really saw it as an inconvenience and “review worthy”. I have never had issues with this office on 17th street. My team has went above and beyond and my normal doctor has even put a bandage on my daughter’s knee while we were there for me. I’m comfortable here. I trust the doctors and the staff. I’ll have such a hard month, go in for my next appointment and sometimes just let it all out like they’re my darn therapist. Probably not the most logical thing lol but I know them, they are familiar to me and I know what to expect. I’ve never had any surprises and have had more issues with my pharmacist than with my doctor and support team. Everyone in these reviews have an insane amount of entitlement for those on state insurance. I didn’t see an ounce of gratitude. I for one am grateful for this office and those that work here. Thank you to all of the doctors who have helped me along my journey!

DO NOT go to Valley Health Partners Vision Center. I gave them multiple chances, but after this last experience, I’m done.

I’ve tried to be understanding, especially since I work in healthcare myself. But this place is completely disorganized. The wait times are long, billing is a mess, communication is horrible, and despite staff being polite unless they are stressed then they can be a bit rude. this place simply doesn’t care about being transparent or helpful.

Here’s what happened:

I went back to them on May 21 for a contact lens appointment. I was explicitly told by Mary (the woman who handles contact sales) that I would not be charged an exam fee, only the cost of the contacts $80 that day, and $80 at pickup. I trusted this, especially because I had already been overcharged previously and even sent to collections despite paying in full the first time. I was sent to collections due to a system error! But once again, they charged me $190 for a return visit without informing me beforehand. If I had known, I would’ve never done it. I told the lady I had no insurance and was working on reactivating it! The lady talked to the Dr to ask if I could not be charged due to that and confirmed.

So I scheduled the for May 21st I came to the visit was seen and paid $80 at checkout, thinking I was only paying for the contacts as agreed. Later, I saw a bill on my LVHN account and assumed it was a mistake again (as had happened before), so I paid another $50 hoping to avoid another collections issue and dispute it later only to be told it’s non-refundable even though the billing was wrong in the first place.

According to them I’m being billed for a return visit since I sat in the chair, luckily I had insurance at the time (AmeriHealth Caritas Medicaid) but they didn’t bill it. They started billing me personally, despite knowing I was trying to reactivate my insurance and despite never giving me any paperwork, breakdown of costs, or notice about a visit charge during the visit I had zero clue I would be billed for anything beyond contacts.

Fast forward to today, July 18, I went in to pick up my contacts and canceled all my follow-up appointments with them. I also found out that now they will FINALLY bill my insurance because I told them it was active since I checked it myself, but I have to follow up in 60 days to see IF the insurance pays. Only then can I “request” a refund. Nobody from billing will follow up with me the burden is entirely on me to chase them down (and calling them is a nightmare). So if never follow up I wouldn’t be refunded anything? CRAZYYY!

I’m just exhausted. Between being MISLED about pricing, poor communication, being charged without consent, and being told I wouldn’t be refunded my own money unless I chase it, I CANT TRUST this place anymore.

Shoutout to the front desk lady she was kind. But they need to get their act together, especially the management and billing team. They need serious training in transparency, patient communication, and organization. I got no good faith estimate! No fee breakdowns? Fraudulent place.

If you’re uninsured or on Medicaid, do not go here unless you want to be blindsided by bills and stuck on hold for hours.

This place is ridiculous. Go somewhere else where doctors actually care about their patients. My appointment has been cancelled twice already and it was a problem visit. God forbid I have a real problem that needs immediate attention I’m blaming you guys, every doctor seems to call in sick and cancel your appointment the day of. Not only that you have to call back and schedule it because no one’s going to care about it once it’s cancelled again… and again. And then wait another month because there’s nothing available with your schedule. A joke of a clinic, and I won’t be returning.. because I'm not going to waste my time calling over a pain I’m having just to have no confidence that the appointment will actually happen. This place needs a reality check! Oh and stop making appointments for people without their consent the first time it was cancelled I had an appointment just magically scheduled for me during work hours and they have a cancellation policy apparently. What sense does that make. Maybe start talking to your patients. Just another thing to check off for unprofessional.

This has to be the worst office in the history of offices, please tell me how I had to cancel an appointment with them and then they decided to just create an appointment for me without my consent and then when I told them I could not make the appointment they had the nerve to say that I am violating their cancellation policy, to this day my entire family cannot stop laughing at the audacity because there is no way on earth that that makes anything sense because how am I violating a policy for an appointment that they decided to create for me that I did not ask them for. I just need this hospital to be for real because there’s no way I can take this hospital serious if that’s how they operate

I have to say the worst set of physicians I have ever met. First of all you are dealing with students! Not even a M.D. they don’t even listen to what you have to say. They prescribe you medication that can’t be combined with current medications. Then they want to prescribe you a medication that you had a reaction too. SMH 🤦‍♀️ You go in with a health concern right away they want to sent you to see a psychiatrist! Cause they have no answers for you, they can’t help you. Oh also I saw the therapist on site that was referred to me by the physician! Therapist didn’t understand why I was referred to see her after one hour of speaking to me. She obviously saw there was nothing wrong with me. She also gave me a name of a doctor that will be able to help me, because her best friend went through the same issue. This doctor was such an amazing person.
I highly recommend to seek different providers. Remember you are your own advocate and always do your research! Don’t be afraid to speak up, you’ll eventually find someone who will listen and care.

I called these people back in May 2016 to be on a waiting list, in which they told me was only a month. I called back in June and another person advised me that the waiting period is about two months and I would not be able to schedule an appointment until July. I call back in July, and they do not have me in their system!!! what!!! So now I have to be put back on the waiting list for another 2-3 months because they don't know how to do their jobs! I'm highly upset as This is my health!!! and it is not something to mess with. Do not trust these people on the phone go there directly and get a copy of everything because it seems that they are very unorganized and do not know how to do their jobs correctly.
