We’ve been going to VCA Cairo with my 9-year-old Yorkie for over a year. Dr Smialek is wonderful. She is very knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. Over the past year, she helped us with many problems - from bladder stones to stomach issues and some emergency cases such as acute pancreatitis. She always listens and tries to find the best solution for us. She and the rest of the staff are also very patient and friendly with our reactive and not-so-friendly boy. I feel lucky we found this place and have a fantastic doctor we can trust with our pup.

Unbelievable experience! I brought two puppies to Dr. Cairo based upon a couple overwhelming referrals and I see why he has such a good reputation!

He spent 90 minutes which is way above and beyond the necessary time for a standard checkup to ensure that he answered all of my questions. Finally, Dr. Cairo gave me his personal mobile number to text him if I had any questions... AMAZING!

I have so many wonderful things to say about VCA Cairo! Aside from when we lived in the city for a couple of years, they have been there since we adopted our now-8 yo dog, and the only vet our 3 yo dog has ever seen. I would strongly recommend anyone go to this practice, and if you have an anxious pet? This is the place! They allow me to take our dogs into a room right away if we need to decompress and have space to ourselves, and their incorporation of my help and presence into the procedures is helpful for keeping everyone as calm as possible. They also always give lots of love, praise and scritches to our pups to help make them more comfortable and feel more excited to go to the vet. I really can't say enough about how much they love pets, and it shows through all of their interactions.

From the amazing front desk staff to the techs and vets, we have been so happy with the care and compassion offered to our anxious pups, and us. In particular, Mandy, Eric and Cheyenne up front, Aileen our absolute favorite and most patient tech, and Dr Bramson, are all worth shouting out for their love and care. I was thrilled to resume care with them when we moved back, and know that we'll always be in good hands. Also, if you're looking for an excellent dog massage-ask for Paula. She's fantastic! Thanks, Cairo team, for loving our wacky and noisy pups!

We had a coupon for a free first visit so we thought it wouldn’t hurt our wallets to take our new puppy to them. Boy!, we couldn’t have been more wrong. What’s worse was the treatment for our pup and us. The vet and nurse were super shady. They kept pushing us to buy their monthly care package - they even falsely suggested that it covers everything from vet visit etc, when it only covered 30 percent at most only on certain types of visits. Every other sentence they spoke was, how we will miss out if we did not get the care package. They did not even spend as much time caring for our pup. They did the exam in front of us - however they charged us 250 US dollars for a distemper and parvo shot + 1 heartworm dose, which they said they administered (they took him to another staff only room to administer his vaccine) however when asked for the sticker for his records - they said they threw it in the trash. Also, I just found the same shots cost around 50 usd at Vetco, where the staff was very nice.

I am a first time dog owner so when my dog injured her paw and was limping, I immediately called our vet. They didn't have any appointments for the following days so I called vca, who were able to schedule me right away. We saw Dr Orzyp and she was phenomenal. She was so patient with Izzyy as she wiggled around and so caring and gentle with her! They were able to find the sore in her paw and prescribe medication. Izzy was back to normal a couple days later! Can’t recommend them enough to help take care of your pet!!

The staff and veterinarians at Cairo are excellent - caring and responsive to the needs, health, welfare, and comfort of pets and their owners. My dogs have been patients at Cairo for decades. I highly recommend Cairo to pet owners and their pets.
