Great resource for those that need it. Very knowledgeable specialists with a very kind and warm staff. Everyone is very responsive to calls and emails. I'm very happy with the help we got here. At this point, we don't know what will happen to our dog but I feel better knowing that we got the best care we could for her here.

For those complaining about price, yes this place is pricy but it is a well-equipped emergency facility with specialists on call. It's not meant to be a regular vet.

As a side note, I highly recommend everyone get good pet insurance to absorb the prices. Our insurance has so far paid out everything they were supposed to this wasn't a concern for us.

I recently took my 15-year-old Yorkie to VERC around 11pm on a Tuesday night and I cannot recommend them highly enough! The facility is modern, spotless. From the moment we arrived, they immediately took my dog into triage, prioritizing her care before even discussing paperwork—a huge relief during a stressful time. The staff were incredibly kind and compassionate throughout the entire process. They truly care about both their patients and their families. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of emergency pet care. They are absolute lifesavers!

Veterinary Emergency Referral Center is a beacon of hope in times of pet emergencies. The staff's dedication to providing exceptional care is unparalleled. Our furry friend was in congestive heart failure, and the entire team at VERC went above and beyond to ensure his recovery. The doctors were incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate, explaining every step of the treatment process with clarity and empathy. The veterinary technician, Nick, was very attentive and gentle, providing constant care and comfort to my pet. I am eternally grateful for his expertise and unwavering commitment to improving our pet's quality of life. VERC is more than just a veterinary hospital; it's a place where pets receive top-notch medical care and their families find unwavering support.

Note: I want to add a special note about the doctor. I do not recall her name, but she is an internal medicine doctor who spent an incredible 45 minutes in the exam room with us, providing detailed information and answering all of our questions. She was incredibly patient, compassionate, and knowledgeable, and we felt completely at ease knowing our pet was in her care. The doctor never left the room during that entire time, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to our family and our pet's well-being.

I had a truly wonderful experience at the Veterinary Emergency Referral Center of Hawaii when my 8-year-old Pomeranian, Zoey, needed emergency surgery. The team was incredibly caring, keeping us in the loop every step of the way and making sure Zoey got the best care possible. Thanks to their quick actions and dedication, the surgery was a success, and Zoey is now happily back home, healthy and lively. I can’t recommend them enough—if you’re a pet owner, consider getting pet insurance too. It really helps take the edge off any unexpected costs.

Excellent service. We brought our dog in for swelling on and under her face. After a thorough interview with us it still wasn’t clear what the cause was. They took her vitals and the doc checked her out. I thought they were more thorough than my regular vet. They gave her a steroid shot which brought the swelling down pretty quickly. Gave her some pills and instructions for how to treat her, etc. The doctor and assistant were so good with her and explaining everything to us.

It was an extraordinary experience. I was fully informed in detail, or in brief, the plan of action to keep my dog comfortable if we cannot perform surgery in the near future. Our appointment was flawless. The staff was great. The place was immaculate. I will address that yes you must be prepared to pay as much as if you yourself needed immediate medical attention They have payment options and pamphlets and pet insurance options.
