This vet saved my baby Gigi she wasn’t even sure if it was right what she thought she had but treated her like it was what she had and it turned out to be the right thing to do. Things were feeling hopeless for my mom and I since days before we had just lost Dorothy one of our other rabbits but we decided to try a different vet we normally go to Feather and Fur which is where we took Dorothy. Gigi had E. cuniculi and was paralyzed in all 4 legs. This was months ago and we still have her she’s totally back to her usual self now being as sassy as ever. I truly can’t thank this vet enough for what she did for us.

I usually don't write reviews, but I wanted to share my wonderful experience with Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital. Dr. Morikami and Dara are incredible when it comes to treating my puppy. My pup absolutely adores Dara every time we visit. She is always super friendly, genuine, and knows exactly how to handle my puppy to make him feel comfortable.
Dr. Morikami is exceptionally professional, providing us with everything we need to ensure our puppy's health. Even on visits when we didn’t have an appointment with Dr. Morikami or Dara, we were always greeted and treated with kindness and care. I truly feel like the staff really cares about my pet and is always accommodating to our requests. Thank you Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital!

The best vet clinic I’ve ever been too, the entire staff and every Doctor is so friendly and supportive not to mention very good at what they do. They don’t ever make me feel like they are running any unnecessary tests to make more money they are very trustworthy and compassionate.

What I love most about the Waipahu/Waikele Vet hospital is the compassion and dedication that the entire staff displays on a daily basis. They love animals and care for our pets, as if they were their own. Nice to be recognized by name, and even by our pet's names.
And the level of Vet care is unsurpassed anywhere. Well done.

I’ll start this by saying when I initially called to schedule an appointment I did not have a good experience with the receptionist. She made some pretty inappropriate assumptions about the care of my dog. After I spoke with her supervisor (yea, I was that guy who asked for the supervisor), I decided to proceed with my appointment. These four stars belong to the crew and Veterinarian we had our appointment with. I was presented with several options for treatment and I was allowed to express my concerns and ask many questions on how to go forward with caring for my dogs. I really appreciated the attention to our needs.

I've had to take my cat here a few times after hours and they've always accommodated me. My most recent visit (8/19), the woman on the phone was SO nice, I believe her name was Ashley. Sometimes it can feel silly to have your pet seen by a veterinarian as you know you may be overreacting or not have the right info.

Anyways, she listened to my concerns and offered a few options and was super transparent on pricing, the process, etc. I decided to just take her in and she accommodated me and said I was welcome to come in earlier than the time offered. I so appreciate her energy and kindness that day. My cat ended up being completely fine.

However, I felt like the vet tech wasn't fully attentive and I felt dismissed at times. My questions kept being forgotten 😭

Another thing I will note, is one of my cat's previous visit for possible bleach ingestion. At the time, I was told in order to make an appointment for her incident, I had to call the animal poison control to determine if she needed treatment. It really sucked because that was a separate fee ($80) on top of the actual exam visit (about $200?) I'm sure there is some sort of policy in place, but it felt redundant because I had to go in anyway and I just spent more money that could've been avoided.

I'm not sure about regular visits, but as for after hours I believe it's $120, and after a certain time it's $180 or something like that.

The employees and family and friends are told to vote for the hospital, in order to win business of the year. Its not by customers voting for them. They have a bigger staff vs other hospitals or clinics on island, reason why more votes are cast by the staff.
Do not bother going to Waikele Waipahu Pet Hospital or any of their other locations, they care only about charging the highest prices and nonsense services will be added to your bill. The people who run this hospital is shady as it comes, it’s like a cult.
I paid a fraction going to another hospital, Animal House in Ewa Beach and the staff truly cared about our fur baby; because, its a smaller staff so it felt like family how they treated us and cared for our dog.
A friend of ours took her fur baby to Waikele Waipahu Pet Hospital three years ago and her dog died the next day after taking something prescribed for a minor concern. She wanted to file a former complaint but because my daughter referred her to this place, she refrained from filing the claims but she actually didn’t know what to do that’s why. I wish we had known about this, we would have supported her at the time it happened.

On Dec 18, 2024 a tiny kitten that we’ve seen for a few weeks was hit by a car, we think. He was dragging his hind legs and one of them was bleeding and no fur. It was about 8pm and I called VCA Pearl City but they were busy with 6 other emergencies and 2 surgeries. Stacy was very nice and referred me to VERC. I called VERC and the female who answered was uncaring and simply said they wouldn’t see the kitten since not my pet and told me to call animal control or drop it at the Humane Society! No compassion at all! I called Waikele Pet Hospital and spoke to Tatum. She was so nice and caring. I told her we don’t want the kitten to suffer. Although they were busy she said just come in. When we arrived she met us and took the kitten in the back so the Vet could take a look in between treating another animal. Aside from the hind legs being paralyzed there was bleeding behind the kittens eye, bleeding from the ear and swelling on one side of its face. Tatum said we could leave the kitten there and they will put it down for us. No charge for anything! More than anything we so appreciated Tatum’s compassion and understanding. Sad but relieved that cute little kitten would not be suffering. Mahalo Tatum and the Vet on duty on the night of Dec 18! (Picture of the kitten a week or so before, so cute! 🥲)
